Abstract

Early childhood education plays an important role in fostering children's interest in learning as a foundation for readiness for further education. Children aged 5–6 years need a learning approach that is fun, meaningful, and appropriate to their developmental characteristics. The singing method is one relevant learning strategy because it integrates language, rhythm, movement, and emotion into the learning process. This study aims to analyze and describe the implementation of the singing method in increasing the learning interest of 5-6 year old children at Baqiyatus Shalihat Indonesia Early Childhood Education Center, identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of its implementation, and examine teachers' perceptions and experiences regarding the effectiveness of this method. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of learning activities, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the singing method was implemented in a planned manner in accordance with the learning theme and was able to increase children's enthusiasm, activity, and interest in participating in learning activities. Supporting factors include teacher competence, institutional support, and availability of facilities, while inhibiting factors include limited song variety and differences in children's characteristics. Teachers view the singing method as an effective, enjoyable, and meaningful learning strategy in increasing the learning interest of early childhood.
