Abstract

The professional development of educators and educational staff is an essential component in improving the quality of education. One of the main aspects of professional development is a systematic, planned, and sustainable coaching procedure. This article aims to describe the concept of coaching procedures, the challenges in implementing each stage of coaching, and improvement strategies in the professional development of educators and educational staff. This study employed a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach through the analysis of books, scientific journals, and previous studies related to educational human resource development. The findings indicate that challenges in coaching procedures occur in the stages of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, follow-up, as well as cultural and organizational aspects. Coaching programs are often not based on needs analysis, lack sustainability, and are not integrated with career development and performance appraisal systems. In addition, limited resources, weak professional reflection culture, and insufficient organizational support also affect the effectiveness of coaching programs. Therefore, it is necessary to improve coaching procedures through needs-based planning, continuous monitoring, and strengthening a learning organizational culture in order to enhance educator professionalism and educational quality sustainably.
