Abstract

Abstrak: Penggunaan pestisida kimia sintetis secara berlebihan di kalangan petani menimbulkan dampak negatif terhadap kesehatan dan lingkungan, sekaligus meningkatkan biaya produksi pertanian. Desa Ngargoloka, Kecamatan Gladagsari, Boyolali, Jawa Tengah, menghadapi permasalahan tersebut di tengah melimpahnya limbah tembakau yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam membuat pestisida nabati berbasis limbah tembakau sebagai alternatif pengendalian hama yang ramah lingkungan dan ekonomis. Metode yang digunakan meliputi tiga tahapan, yaitu edukasi dampak pestisida kimia, pelatihan pembuatan dan formulasi pestisida nabati, serta evaluasi menggunakan instrumen pre-test dan post-test. Kegiatan melibatkan 17 petani anggota kelompok tani aktif. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan rata-rata sebesar 67,06%, dari 31,76% menjadi 98,82%. Peningkatan tertinggi terjadi pada aspek pemahaman potensi limbah tembakau sebagai pestisida nabati dan keyakinan tentang kemampuannya mengurangi ketergantungan pada pestisida kimia, masing-masing sebesar 94,12%. Selain itu, seluruh peserta memberikan penilaian positif terhadap materi, narasumber, dan sarana pelatihan, serta 64,71% menyatakan berminat untuk mempraktikkan pembuatan pestisida nabati secara mandiri.Abstract: The excessive use of synthetic chemical pesticides among farmers has caused negative impacts on health and the environment, while also increasing agricultural production costs. Ngargoloka Village, Gladagsari District, Boyolali, Central Java, faces these challenges amid an abundance of tobacco waste that has not been optimally utilized. This community service activity aimed to improve farmers' knowledge and skills in producing plant-based pesticides from tobacco waste as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to pest control. The method consisted of three stages: education on the impacts of chemical pesticides, training in the production and formulation of botanical pesticides, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test instruments. A total of 17 active farmer group members participated. The evaluation results showed an average knowledge improvement of 67.06%, from 31.76% to 98.82%. The highest increase occurred in understanding the potential of tobacco waste as a botanical pesticide and in participants' confidence in its ability to reduce dependence on chemical pesticides, each rising by 94.12%. Furthermore, all participants gave positive assessments of the training materials, presenters, and facilities, with 64.71% expressing interest in independently practicing the production of botanical pesticides.
