Abstract

Abstrak: Petani kopi rakyat di Kecamatan Sidamanik masih menghadapi permasalahan rendahnya pemanfaatan limbah kulit kopi dan biomassa lokal, tingginya ketergantungan terhadap pupuk kimia, serta belum optimalnya penerapan budidaya kopi berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan mengimplementasikan Zero Waste Integrated System melalui pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal sebagai bahan baku pupuk organik untuk mendukung peningkatan kapasitas petani dan keberlanjutan budidaya kopi. Mitra kegiatan adalah kelompok petani kopi rakyat dan pengurus koperasi kopi, dengan peserta 20 petani aktif dan 5 orang pengurus koperasi. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei, penyuluhan, workshop pembuatan pupuk organik, pendampingan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, pre-test, dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta dari rata-rata 32,29% menjadi 85,43%, atau meningkat sebesar 53,14 poin persentase. Program ini meningkatkan kesadaran, keterampilan teknis, dan komitmen mitra dalam mengelola limbah kopi berbasis pertanian berkelanjutan.Abstract: Smallholder coffee farmers in Sidamanik still face several problems, including the low utilization of coffee husk waste and local biomass, high dependence on chemical fertilizers, and limited implementation of sustainable coffee cultivation practices. This community service program aimed to implement a Zero Waste Integrated System by utilizing local resources as raw materials for organic fertilizer, thereby improving farmers’ capacity and supporting sustainable coffee production. The participants consisted of approximately 20 active smallholder coffee farmers and 5 coffee cooperative administrators. The program was conducted through field surveys, extension activities, organic fertilizer production workshops, technical assistance, monitoring, and evaluation. The evaluation was carried out using observation, interviews, pre-test, and post-test instruments. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding from an average of 32.29% to 85.43%, representing a 53.14 percentage-point improvement. This program improved farmers’ awareness, technical skills, and commitment to managing coffee waste through sustainable agricultural practices.
