Abstract

The construction of character education is fundamental to building the character of the "nation's children." Character education is a fundamental responsibility of every citizen. The fragility of character education gives rise to deconstructive character patterns in the younger generation. In this regard, this study seeks to uncover the strategic role of women in fostering a dignified and characterful generation. The method used in this study is a literature review, examining a number of sources. The results of the study indicate that women are crucial subjects in constructing character education, by socializing, passing on, or transmitting it to children/students. Such a woman's role is dynamic and acts as an agent of change. Likewise, women are capable of transforming change in both the domestic and public spheres. Women's roles in the domestic sphere include: building exemplary behavior, caring and empathy, self-reliance, and instilling religious values. In the public sphere, they include: community role models, exemplifying acceptance of differences, fostering mutual cooperation, and being wise in using social media. Such a constructive role will foster an educational model that is effective for building national character.
