Di era globalisasi seperti sekarang ini, jasa pengiriman kurir memiliki prospek yang sangat baik, apalagi transaksi jual beli secara online maupun offline melalui platform digital marketing meningkat setiap tahunnya. Namun, kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan saat ini banyak jasa pengiriman kurir di Indonesia dikuasai oleh perusahaan-perusahaan swasta. Hal ini mengakibatkan PT Pos Indonesia mengalami penurunan dalam pengiriman jasa kurir. Ssalah satu produk jasa kurir di PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) yaitu Paket Kilat Khusus. Model peramalan yang akan digunakan untuk memprediksi jumlah produksi jasa pengiriman adalah Time Series atau Deret Waktu, dan metode peramalan yang akan diterapkan adalah Single Exponential Smoothing. Hasil pengolahan Single Exponential Smoothing untuk peramalan produksi Paket Kilat Khusus PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) memperlihatkan bahwa parameter α terbaik yang telah didapatkan untuk peramalan produksi pengiriman Paket Kilat Khusus dari bulan Januari hingga bulan Desember 2019 adalah parameter α=0.9 sebesar 1,734,596.
