Abstract

Back pain in pregnant women can cause stress, thus increasing the risk of premature labor. Efforts to reduce pain are with prenatal gentle yoga and Effleurage Massage. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of prenatal gentle yoga and effleurage massage in reducing back pain in pregnant women at PMB Riska Indraweni, Lumajang Regency. The pre-experimental research design was Two Group Pretest-Posttest. The research method used was paired sample t-Test. The difference test of two paired samples was determined by purposive sampling and each group of prenatal gentle yoga and effleurage massage obtained 16 pregnant women who experienced back pain. The results of the study showed that the average test in each treatment group showed significant results (p = 0.0001) with a difference in the average decrease in back pain intensity in the prenatal gentle yoga group of 0.31 and the effleurage massage group of 0.6. The effleurage massage technique has a higher effectiveness than prenatal yoga in reducing back pain in pregnant women. Pregnant women are advised to apply effleurage massage and prenatal gentle yoga to overcome back pain and more in-depth research is needed regarding the causes of back pain in pregnant women.

Abstract

The use of PPE aims to protect health workers from invasion by pathogenic microbes. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by nurses is still considered inadequate in its implementation and application. The application of PPE in nursing care is influenced by various factors. One such factor is nurses' behavior in using PPE. This study aims to determine the effect of comfort in using PPE on nurses' behavior in using PPE at Merauke Regional Hospital. This study used a cross-sectional research technique. The sampling method used was stratified random sampling. Based on this calculation, the required sample size was 103 respondents. The independent variable in this study was comfort in using PPE, and the dependent variable was behavior in using PPE. The Chi-square correlation test was used. The Chi-square test yielded a p-value of 0.04 (p<0.05). These results concluded that there was a significant effect between comfort in using PPE and nurses' behavior at Merauke Regional Hospital. The SPSS output showed a correlation coefficient of moderate or moderately strong.

Abstract

Betel nut consumption is closely linked to an increased risk of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED). The active ingredients in it inhibit the absorption of essential nutrients and can reduce appetite, resulting in inadequate macro and micronutrient intake for mothers. This study aims to determine the relationship between the betel nut culture and the incidence of CED in pregnant women at the Karang Indah Community Health Center. The study design was quantitative and analytical with a cross-sectional approach. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 40 pregnant women from Papua who consume betel nut. Data were collected through a questionnaire to determine the consumption behavior of betel nut and pita lila (lila) to determine whether pregnant women had CED and a lila (lila) <23.5 cm. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods using the Chi-Square test with an ? value of 0.05. The results showed that the majority of respondents had a habit of consuming betel nut (52.5%), those with CED (45.0%), and those without CED (7.5%). Bivariate analysis showed a significant association between the betel nut culture and the incidence of CED in pregnant women (p = 0.010) with strong relationships. These results indicate that CED is more common in pregnant women who consume betel nut compared to those who do not. Therefore, health education for pregnant women is needed to reduce betel nut consumption.
