Abstract This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed at improving the speaking skills of Grade VII A students at SMP Negeri 4 Kuta Utara in the 2025/2026 academic year through the implementation of the Group Investigation learning method assisted by PowerPoint visual media. The study was motivated by the students’ low speaking skills, with an average score of 62.04 and a participation rate of only 28.1%. The research employed the Classroom Action Research design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through observation, speaking skill tests, and student response questionnaires. The results of the study indicate that the learning procedures consisting of eight main stages— forming heterogeneous groups, delivering objectives and tasks, assigning group tasks, discussing the material, presenting results using PowerPoint, inter-group responses, clarification and reinforcement by the teacher, and evaluation—were able to improve students' speaking skills. This improvement was shown by the increase in the average score from 62.04 in the pre-test to 67.78 in Cycle I, and further rising to 72.46 in Cycle II. The effectiveness of the method was also reflected in the increase in the number of students achieving the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM), from 31.25% in the pre- test to 59.38% in Cycle I, and reaching 84.38% in Cycle II. In addition, students’ responses to the learning process were highly positive, with 97.50% positive responses and only 2.50% negative responses. Therefore, the implementation of the Group Investigation method assisted by visual media is effective in improving students’ speaking skills in Indonesian language learning. AbstrakPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang bertujuan untukmeningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 4 Kuta Utaratahun akademik 2025/2026 melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran GroupInvestigation berbantuan media visual PowerPoint. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangirendahnya keterampilan berbicara siswa dengan nilai rata-rata 62,04 dan keaktifanhanya 28,1%. Penelitian menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) modelKemmis dan McTaggart yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Data dikumpulkan melaluiobservasi, tes keterampilan berbicara, dan kuisioner respon siswa. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa melalui langkah pembelajaran dengan delapan tahapan utama,yaitu pembentukan kelompok heterogen, penyampaian tujuan dan tugas, pembagiantugas kelompok, diskusi materi, presentasi hasil menggunakan PowerPoint, tanggapanantarkelompok, klarifikasi dan penegasan oleh guru, serta evaluasi dapat meningkatkanketerampilan berbicara siswa. Peningkatan ini tampak ditandai dengan kenaikan nilairata-rata dari 62,04 pada tes awal menjadi 67,78 pada siklus I, dan meningkat lagimenjadi 72,46 pada siklus II. Efektivitas metode juga terlihat dari peningkatan jumlahsiswa yang mencapai nilai KKM, yaitu dari 31,25% pada tes awal, menjadi 59,38%pada siklus I, dan mencapai 84,38% pada siklus II. Selain itu, respons siswa terhadappembelajaran sangat positif, dengan persentase 97,50% respons positif dan hanya2,50% respons negatif. Dengan demikian penerapan metode Group Investigationberbantuan media visual efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswapada pelajaran bahasa Indonesia.
