Road safety is an important aspect of community mobility, particularly in residential areas with road curves that have limited visibility. This study aims to describe the implementation of convex mirrors as a preventive effort to improve visual information and support road user safety at curved road areas in Kuripan Village, Teluk Betung Barat District. The study employed a descriptive qualitative and implementative approach. Data were collected through field observations and documentation, focusing on road conditions, visibility limitations, visual obstacles, vehicle movement, and the placement of convex mirrors. The implementation was carried out at three locations, namely Jalan Setia Budi, Jalan Makmun Isya, and Jalan Pramuka, which were selected based on observations of limited visibility at curves. The results showed that the installation of convex mirrors provided additional visual information for road users by enabling them to observe areas that were previously difficult to see directly, particularly traffic approaching from the opposite direction. The implementation also supported users’ awareness when approaching curved road sections. However, this study did not quantitatively measure changes in accident rates, vehicle speeds, or traffic conflicts. Therefore, the findings indicate the practical contribution of convex mirrors in providing additional visual information rather than statistically proving a reduction in traffic accidents. Regular maintenance, evaluation, and user awareness are required to maintain the effectiveness of the facility.
