Abstract

Abstract: This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of mosque administrators and congregants of Nurul Huda Mosque, Dasan Baru, in developing participatory-based mosque renovation planning. The main problems faced by the community partner include limited knowledge and skills in systematic renovation planning, as well as low levels of structured community involvement in decision-making processes. These conditions have resulted in renovation activities being carried out in an incidental, unstructured manner, often lacking sustainability and alignment with the actual needs of the congregation. The method applied in this program is the Participatory Action Learning approach, implemented through three main stages: socialization (March 21, 2026), planning (March 25, 2026), and training (March 28, 2026), involving 47 participants. The activities were conducted using participatory techniques, including group discussions, hands-on practice, and guided assistance in preparing renovation plans. The findings indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of renovation planning concepts, their ability to identify priorities and formulate actionable plans, as well as increased active participation in deliberation and decision-making processes. The program successfully produced a realistic and sustainable renovation plan aligned with the needs of the mosque community. In conclusion, this program effectively transformed the community’s mindset toward a more systematic, participatory, and long-term oriented approach in managing mosque facilities. Therefore, this participatory-based training model is proven to be effective in strengthening community independence and has strong potential to be replicated in similar community contexts to support sustainable community-based development.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the meaning of multicultural education in the Qur’an through Toshihiko Izutsu’s semantic epistemology and to examine its implications for global ethical principles. Using a descriptive-analytical library research design, the study demonstrates that Izutsu’s semantic framework, comprising the identification of key concepts, basic meanings, relational meanings, historical meanings, and the Qur’anic Weltanschauung, is highly relevant for uncovering the Qur’an’s vision of multiculturalism. The analysis shows that key terms such as syuʿūban, qabāʾila, alsinatikum, and alwānikum are interconnected within a complex semantic network. This interconnection reveals a universal semantic transformation in which these terms shift from narrow pre-Qur’anic connotations to an inclusive worldview that regards ethnic, linguistic, and racial diversity as signs of divine greatness and as foundations for strengthening human relationships (li-taʿārafū), rather than as sources of division. The reconstruction of the Qur’an’s internal semantic network ultimately forms a worldview grounded in equality, dignity, and human brotherhood, where moral worth is determined by piety rather than physical or social identity. The findings further highlight that principles such as tolerance, justice, equality, and humanity emerge as inseparable components of the Qur’anic Weltanschauung, offering a strong philosophical basis for multicultural education rooted in sacred text and oriented toward collective well-being

Abstract

Vocabulary is a crucial component of language acquisition and plays a key role in communicative competence. Mastery of Arabic vocabulary significantly influences overall language skills, making it essential for teachers to understand a variety of effective vocabulary teaching methods. This study aims to explore various Arabic vocabulary learning strategies by reviewing scientific articles published in Sinta 2 and Sinta 3 indexed journals between 2020 and 2024. The research employs a literature review method with a systematic approach based on Gough’s eight-step procedure. A total of 14 articles were analyzed to identify vocabulary learning strategies commonly applied. The findings reveal eight main methods: the use of mnemonic songs, Total Physical Response (TPR), sentence construction and writing techniques, language games, the Visual Auditory Kinesthetic (VAK) learning model, Think-Pair-Share strategy, cooperative learning, and imitation-based memorization. Additionally, the integration of digital tools such as Wordwall and online games proved to enhance vocabulary acquisition and learner motivation. These findings provide valuable insights for Arabic language teachers in selecting methods that align with learners’ characteristics and needs. The study recommends the adoption of varied and technology-supported approaches to improve the effectiveness of Arabic vocabulary learning.
