Abstract

The deterioration of irrigation infrastructure in Putat Lor Village, Gondanglegi District, poses a significant obstacle to agricultural productivity due to high sedimentation and the collapse of earthen channel banks. This article discusses the transformation of civil engineering research into a community service activity through the implementation of mountain stone (quarry stone) masonry construction based on community empowerment. The implementation method employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, involving the Water User Farmers Association (HIPPA) from planning and technical training to self-managed construction. The results indicate that the utilization of local Gondanglegi mountain stone offers mechanical advantages in the form of strong interlocking bonds and a cost efficiency of 21% compared to river stone materials from outside the region. Physically, a 100-meter sturdy tertiary irrigation channel has been constructed. Socially, there was an increase in the partners' capacity regarding standard mortar mixing techniques (1:4) and drainage maintenance management. This program recommends the use of local materials and active ommunity involvement as a sustainable model for rural infrastructure revitalization.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to implement thermal drying technology to assist PT. Morinaga in processing dairy sludge waste into high-value solid fertilizer, as a tangible manifestation of the Zero Waste Industry commitment. The main problem identified at the company's Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is the accumulation of biological sludge waste with an initial moisture content reaching 85%. This high moisture content triggers a rapid decomposition process and produces extreme odor pollution in less than 24 hours, risking operational comfort and environmental safety. The problem-solving method applied by the service team is Rotary Drum Dryer (RDD) technological engineering, accompanied by technical training for 15 internal staff and technicians of PT. Morinaga. Scientific findings show that RDD implementation can evaporate water instantly, reducing the moisture content to 14%, and shrinking the waste mass from 12 tons to only 1.8 tons per day. The resulting solid fertilizer is proven to meet the SNI 19-7030-2004 agronomic quality standards. The conclusion of this activity proves that comprehensive thermal technology intervention successfully breaks the chain of decomposition, eliminates odor pollution in the factory area, reduces waste management logistics costs by up to 80%, and creates material circulation that supports the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. The results of this community service set a new precedent and operational standard for PT. Morinaga in sustainable industrial waste governance.

Abstract

Analysis of sub-structures in cigarette factory buildings with concrete construction is essential to ensure the overall stability, safety, and efficiency of the building, especially in resisting static loads as well as dynamic loads from industrial machinery operations. This study aims to quantitatively evaluate the design capacity of lower structure elements, especially pedestals and foot plates and their repeating specifications, in order to ensure the safety and efficiency limits of materials that support sustainability. Methods: The analysis was performed using SP Column software that relies on the interaction surface diagram (P-M) method to validate the cross-sectional capacity of reinforced concrete against a combination of axial forces and bending moments, combined with computational analytical mechanics for shear and ground stress. The computational results show that the foot plate with an effective thickness of 0.22 m has a shear strength of 519.21 kN, far exceeding the shear force that occurs (284.267 kN). The ratio of precision measured pedestal reinforcement  at 4%. Evaluation of steel performance proves the operating voltage is safe in the elastic region (below the modulus of 200,000 MPa). In addition, the area of the reinforced slab (113 mm²) exceeds the theoretical requirements of the structural analysis (66,987 mm²), which is an effective surplus in securing the position of the main reinforcement and resisting concrete cracks due to temperature reduction. The design of the lower structure of this factory building is proven to be daktail, safe, and legally compliant with the loading regulations of SNI 1727:2013 and the structural concrete requirements of SNI 2847:2019 (as a correction to the citation of SNI 1726 in the initial data). This computational optimization of the reinforcement ratio also prevents the waste of building materials, in line with the principles of sustainable industrial engineering.

Abstract

This study evaluates the functional feasibility and environmental sustainability of the KLHK Blitar Guard Post Building. The research methodology employed is qualitative descriptive, focusing on the primary document analysis of the Environmental Inspection Report, followed by an empirical comparison of field conditions against national regulatory frameworks and standards. The specific regulatory standards utilized include Government Regulation (PP) No. 16 of 2021 on Building Construction (as the basis for the Certificate of Functional Feasibility), Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation (Permen LHK) No. 6 of 2021 regarding Hazardous Waste Management, Minister of Public Works and Housing Regulation (Permen PUPR) No. 21 of 2021 on Green Buildings, and specific technical references from Indonesian National Standards (SNI). These include SNI 03-7065-2005 for plumbing systems, SNI 03-2453-2002 for infiltration wells, SNI 03-6572-2001 for ventilation systems, and SNI 7231:2009 for noise measurement. The results indicate that the building is technically and administratively feasible. The facility has secured the SPPL document, produces no industrial hazardous waste, and possesses plumbing and drainage infrastructure that exceeds minimum standards (such as a 3,600-liter septic tank and a 12 m³ infiltration well). Although material usage is deemed safe, this research identified a methodological flaw in the previous audit regarding the incorrect use of SNI references for acoustic noise evaluation. In conclusion, the building operates in compliance with regulations, yet it requires further interventions, such as 3R-based domestic waste management and energy efficiency integration, to fully satisfy the ideal criteria of a Green Building.
