Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of social media as a medium for political education in the digital era, examine the effectiveness of political content spread through various social media platforms, and identify the challenges that arise in its implementation. The research employs a qualitative approach with literature review method, utilizing primary and secondary sources from academic journals, books, and relevant documents published between 2020 and 2025. The findings reveal that social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, and TikTok have transformed the landscape of political education, particularly among the younger generation. Social media facilitates broad and rapid dissemination of political information, encourages political participation, and enables interactive two-way communication between the public and political actors. However, the spread of hoaxes, political polarization, and digital literacy gaps remain significant challenges. This research concludes that optimizing social media as a tool for political education requires collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and media  platforms to create a healthy, educative, and participatory digital political  ecosystem.

Abstract

Civic Education (PKn) plays a very strategic role in shaping the character of citizens who are Pancasila-spirited, democratic, and responsible. In the digital era marked by the rapid flow of information and the challenge of hoaxes, the urgency of PKn is increasing. This study aims to examine the strengthening of national character through Civic Education learning in the digital era for students at the Institut Sains Al-Qur'an Syekh Ibrahim Pasir Pangaraian. The method used is library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach. Data were collected from various library sources including books, journal articles, and official government documents. The results show that PKn can be an effective instrument in internalizing Pancasila values, strengthening national identity, and improving students' digital and critical literacy. The integration of technology in PKn learning has been proven to increase student engagement and the relevance of the material to contemporary issues. This research recommends that PKn be taught contextually by utilizing digital platforms, actual case studies, and value-based approaches rooted in Islamic values that characterize the institution.

Abstract

Islamic education has an important role in shaping citizens who are aware of their rights and obligations in social, national, and religious life. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic education in instilling awareness of the rights and obligations of citizens and to identify factors that support the implementation of these values in everyday life. This research uses a qualitative approach through literature study by examining books, journals, and relevant scientific articles related to Islamic education and civic awareness. The results show that Islamic education contributes significantly in developing attitudes of responsibility, justice, discipline, tolerance, and obedience to the law. Islamic educational values also encourage individuals to understand the balance between rights and obligations as part of moral and social responsibility. In addition, teachers, family, and educational environments have an important role in strengthening civic awareness among students. Therefore, Islamic education can become a strategic means in forming citizens who are responsible, ethical, and have a strong national spirit.
