Abstract

Congestive heart failure is the incapacity of heart to pump adequate blood in fulfilling the need for oxygen ad nutrients which causes cardiac output to decrease which brings about pain in chest. Pain management can be done by using pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies. Deep breath relaxation therapy is done in the non-pharmacological nursing pain management. It will increase the supply of oxygen to tissues so that pain will decrease. The research used descriptive method with case study design which was aimed to find out the description of the need for oxygen in congestive heart failure patients. The nursing approach consisted of nursing analysis, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in 2 clients with the same case. The result showed that in case I there was no more pain in chest in the third day of nursing, while in case II complaint about short of breath could be handled in the third day of nursing since the client felt relaxed. The conclusion was that the need for oxygen could be handled by using deep breath relaxation technique. It is recommended that the clients and their families comply with doing deep breath relaxation technique.

Abstract

Background of  Chronic Pulmonary Obstruction Disease (COPD) is identified by productive coughing, dyspnea, and obstruction in the respiratory tract. It is the combination of emphysema, chronic bronchiolitis, and asthma. One of the symptom of COPD is the decrease in bodyweight. The research used descriptive method with 2 COPD patients at Putri Hijau Level II Hospital Medan. The result of the analysis on the 2 patients showed that their need for nutrition was fulfilled but in different time, the need for nutrition in patient 1 was fulfilled in the 2nd day while in patient 2 it was fulfilled in the 3nd day due to the difference in their age. The conclusion was that the need for nutrition in COPD patients was different because of the difference in age. It is recommended that COPD patients always pay attention to the program in fulfilling their need for nutrition.Keywords: Nutrition, Chronic Obstruction Pulmonary Desease, Chronic

Abstract

This study aims to look at the differences in anxiety in patients undergoing major surgery, medium, and small at the Hospital of Putri Hijau Medan. In line with the existing theory, to test the validity and reliability on the test the validity of measuring instruments, it turns out that valit 46 grain and based on the degree of reliability is equal to 0969. Measuring instrument used in this study had a high level of reliability (very reliable). To be able to analyze the data of this study tested the assumption that the distribution normality test and homogeneity test group. Based on the test normality distribution calculation kosmogorov-Smirnov shows research data analyzed has a distribution that is normally indicated by coefficient KS of 0.122 with P> 0.05 (P = 0089) three groups were used in this study is homogeneous with a coefficient of homogeneity of 2,724 with P > 0.05 (P = 0.077). Calculation of data analysis used in this research is the statistical analysis ANOVA one lane. Turns showed no differences were very signivikan anxiety among patients who will face major surgery, medium, and small, which is indicated by coefficient F = 17 385 with P <0:01 (P = 0:00). It turned out that patients undergoing major surgery  experience exyety at 103.73 100.07 Medium,skall amounting to 996.20Keywords: Difference anxious small medium and large operations
