Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the mindset and career preferences of Generation Z. This generation is known as a group that grew up with the advancement of the internet, social media, and digital transformation, thus having different views in determining career choices compared to previous generations. This study aims to analyze the motivations of Generation Z in choosing a career in the digital era and the factors that influence these decisions. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results show that the main motivations of Generation Z in choosing a career include work flexibility, opportunities for self-development, work-life balance, competitive income, and the opportunity to work according to interests and passions. In addition, the influence of social media, technological developments, and digital work trends are also important factors in shaping their career orientation. Generation Z tends to choose jobs that provide freedom, creativity, and opportunities for professional and personal development. Thus, companies and educational institutions need to understand the characteristics and needs of Generation Z in order to be able to create a work environment and education system that is relevant to the demands of the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and deeply understand the work experience of Generation Z (Gen Z) in the digital workplace, particularly in the local online media environment of bengkuluekspress.com. Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2012, is the first generation to grow up entirely within a digital ecosystem, making how they interpret, navigate, and respond to the digital work environment a compelling and important subject of inquiry. This research employs a qualitative approach using Moustakas's (1994) phenomenological method, which focuses on uncovering the essence of the lived experiences of informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Informants consisted of seven Gen Z employees of bengkuluekspress.com selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal three main themes from Gen Z's work experiences: (1) rapid adaptation to digital technology as the primary capital, (2) work flexibility as a highly valued yet challenging principle, and (3) the search for meaning and professional identity amid the pressures of digital information speed. These findings contribute significantly to understanding the dynamics of the digital generation workforce and their implications for local digital media management.

Abstract

Effective working capital management is a crucial aspect of corporate financial management, as it directly influences a company's liquidity, operational efficiency, and profitability. This study aims to analyze the role of working capital management in improving corporate profitability by examining the relationship between key working capital components, including accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, and the cash conversion cycle, with profitability indicators. The study adopts a quantitative research approach using secondary data obtained from the financial statements of selected companies over a specified period. Data are analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis to determine the effect of working capital management on corporate profitability. The findings indicate that efficient working capital management significantly contributes to higher profitability by reducing unnecessary financing costs, improving cash flow, and enhancing operational performance. In particular, a shorter cash conversion cycle and optimal management of receivables and inventory are associated with improved financial performance. The study concludes that companies should implement effective working capital management strategies to maintain financial stability and maximize profitability in an increasingly competitive business environment. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights for corporate managers, investors, and policymakers in formulating financial management strategies that support sustainable business growth.
