Abstract

Relevant and innovative formation is essential to support the young generation of the Church, particularly Catholic students in public senior high schools/vocational schools in Malang City, in developing their faith identity. They need space for expression to actualize themselves through contextual pastoral programs. This Community Service activity (PKM) aims to strengthen the Catholic faith identity of students in public schools through reflective and contextual formation, while also fostering solidarity of faith in the midst of a pluralistic and secular school environment. The program was implemented in the form of a spiritual outbound activity, consisting of seven symbolically designed group challenge stations. Through these challenges, students were invited to reflect on Christian values such as cooperation, courage, love, patience, and trust. The activity was guided by eight Catholic religion teachers and involved the MGMP as part of a continuous mentoring effort. Each challenge became a meaningful and touching medium for faith learning, enriching the students’ understanding of life as part of the body of Christ. Students' reflections showed that the activity successfully built Christian character and faith-based solidarity in a collaborative way, and it is expected to serve as a model for pastoral programs in other public schools.
