Abstract

The development of Instagram as a digital communication tool has brought about significant changes in people’s interaction patterns. However, the high use of social media has also given rise to various problems, one of which is the phenomenon of hate speech, which can trigger social conflict, division, and a decline in communication ethics in the digital space. This study aims to analyze Islamic digital culture in responding to the phenomenon of hate speechon Instagram and to understand the application of Islamic values in building polite and responsible communication. The method used in this research is a qualitative literature study approach, namely by collecting data from various journals and scientific articles, as well as previous research relevant to the topic. The results show that Islamic digital culture emphasizes the importance of maintaining communication ethics, implementing tabayyun (reconciliation), avoiding hate speech, and prioritizing the values of tolerance and mutual respect in the use of social media. In addition, self-control and digital literacy based on Islamic values are important factors in creating a healthy and harmonious digital environment. This study implies that the application of Islamic digital culture can be a solution in reducing the spread of hate speechon Instagram.

Abstract

The emergence of social media promotes interaction and sharing of information, however, it also heightens the potential for breaches and the inappropriate use of personal information. This research intends to investigate how maqashid sharia can be applied to safeguard the personal data of social media users, serving as an ethical and religious underpinning in today’s digital landscape. From a theoretical perspective, this research situates the protection of personal data within the context of positive law and maqashid sharia principles, particularly hifz al-nafs, hifz al-‘aql, and hifz al-mal, which prioritize the protection of life, intellect, and property against digital threats. The research employs a qualitative methodology through literature-based analysis involving documentation, which is then evaluated descriptively and analytically in relation to pertinent literature, regulations, and academic articles. Findings indicate that the implementation of maqashid sharia is pertinent to enhancing awareness regarding digital privacy, fostering user vigilance when sharing personal information, and advocating for the accountability and openness of digital platforms. Therefore, maqashid sharia serves as an ethical foundation for ensuring that social media usage is safe, principled, and focused on benefiting society.

Abstract

The importance of digital literacy in shaping Muslim identity in the digital age, trough Islamic values and technological developments. The increasingly rapid development of digital media has transformed the way people communicate, learn, and buid self-image in society. This condition encourages the younger generation, especially Muslim students like us, to understand ethics, digital responsibility, and critical awareness in using technology. This study aims to analyze the role of digital literacy, Islamic media ethics, artificial intelligence (AI), digital privacy, and Islamic personal branding in developing responsible digital behavior. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach throgh a literature review of journal, books, and scientific publications related digital literacy functions not only on technical skills, and the application of islamic values in interactions in the digital world. Furthermore the presence of AI and social media trend presents both opportunities and challenges for Muslims in maintanining ethics, privacy, and self-identity. We also imply that strengthening Islamic digital literacy is essential to creating a generation that is adaptive, ethical, and wise in facing technological transformations in the modern era.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed the way individuals build their identities and communicate in the public sphere. In this context, personal branding has become an important aspect for young people to develop a positive self-image while utilizing social media wisely and productively. This study aims to analyze the transformation of Islamic personal branding as a strategy for building a digital identity based on Islamic values. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review by examining various scientific journals, books, and academic sources related to Islamic personal branding, digital communication, and social media ethics. The findings reveal that Islamic personal branding is not merely focused on popularity and self-promotion but also emphasizes moral values such as honesty, responsibility, integrity, politeness, and Islamic identity in digital interactions. The transformation of Islamic personal branding can be implemented through the creation of positive and educational content, enhancement of digital literacy, respectful communication, and the avoidance of excessive flexing behavior on social media. The study implies that Islamic values can serve as a strong foundation for developing a professional, ethical, authentic, and socially beneficial digital identity in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

Social media's growth in the digital age has had a big impact on how people interact and communicate. Social media affects cognitive processes, behavior, and manners in daily life in addition to being a source of amusement and information. A number of detrimental effects, including hoaxes, cyberbullying, fake news, and slander, can result from careless social media use. In this article, a qualitative research method with a particular library-based research approach was employed. This research methodology combines various types of data, including books, scientific journal articles, the Quran and hadith, and other scientific literature related to Islamic digital media ethics. This research aims to study and analyze the application of Islamic teachings to digital media in contemporary society. Data collection techniques include a combination of document-focused and literature-based data collection. The results of the study indicate that Islam teaches its followers to always maintain morals and ethics in communicating, both directly and through digital media. Values ​​such as honesty, avoiding prejudice, not insulting others, and spreading kindness are important guidelines for using social media. By implementing Islamic values ​​on social media, social media should be used as a means to spread knowledge, preach, and good values, thereby creating a safe, harmonious, and ethical digital environment.
