Abstract

The rapid development of digital communication technologies has significantly transformed interactions between healthcare providers and patients, creating new opportunities to strengthen patient engagement and improve healthcare service relationships. This study aims to explore how digital patient engagement through WhatsApp communication contributes to the development of patient loyalty in healthcare services. An intrinsic qualitative case study was conducted in two private medical practices in West Bandung Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 16 patients and 2 general practitioners, complemented by participant observation and document analysis of WhatsApp-based communications. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and key themes related to digital communication, patient engagement, and loyalty. The findings reveal that WhatsApp facilitates clear, responsive, and personalized communication between physicians and patients, enhancing communication quality and patient satisfaction. These positive communication experiences strengthen patient trust in physicians’ competence, integrity, and benevolence, which subsequently contribute to patient loyalty. Patient loyalty was reflected in repeat visits, emotional attachment to physicians, and willingness to recommend healthcare services to others. The study identifies a relational pathway in which communication quality fosters satisfaction and trust, ultimately supporting the development of long-term patient loyalty. The study highlights the importance of integrating simple digital communication platforms in healthcare services to strengthen patient relationships and improve service sustainability in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as a basis for determining employee salary increases at PT Sucorinvest Asset Management, Jakarta. Effective human resource management requires an objective performance measurement system to ensure that employee contributions are aligned with organizational goals and compensation policies. In this context, KPI serves as a strategic tool for measuring employee performance through measurable indicators and supporting managerial decision-making related to remuneration. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving seven informants representing managerial and operational levels within the organization. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the company has implemented a KPI system based on the Balanced Scorecard approach, integrating financial, customer, internal process, and learning and growth perspectives into employee performance evaluation. KPI has been utilized as an important reference for salary increase decisions and performance monitoring. However, several challenges were identified, including inconsistent KPI socialization among employees, limited transparency in the conversion of KPI scores into salary increase percentages, variations in KPI monitoring practices across divisions, and the influence of external business conditions on KPI target achievement. These issues affect employees’ understanding and perceptions of fairness regarding the performance evaluation process. The study concludes that KPI provides a structured framework for performance appraisal and supports more objective salary increase decision-making. The findings highlight the importance of consistent KPI communication, greater transparency in remuneration mechanisms, and adaptive performance targets to enhance the effectiveness of KPI-based performance management systems.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology in recent decades has significantly transformed early childhood education, providing opportunities to integrate digital media into learning activities. This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital media-based learning in three early childhood education institutions (PAUD Pelangi, PAUD Cempaka, and PAUD Kemuning 013) in North Jakarta, Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, involving three principals, six teachers, and thirty students. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s model, encompassing data collection, condensation, presentation, and drawing conclusions. Findings reveal that digital media is applied systematically, creatively, and interactively, supporting learning activities related to cognitive, language, socio-emotional, and motor domains. Teachers act as planners, facilitators, and content creators, while institutional support provides access to digital devices and professional development opportunities. Classroom observations and interview findings suggest that multisensory strategies and differentiated learning approaches contribute to children's engagement, participation, and motivation during learning activities. The study provides qualitative insights into digital pedagogy practices in early childhood education and offers practical recommendations for strengthening digital media integration in PAUD settings.
