Abstract

Background:Shackling behavior against ODGJ still occurs in Empat Lawang Regency, caused by many factors and is quite concerning. The report of the Empat Lawang Regency Health Office in 2023, the number of ODGJ sufferers in its area was 601 people. From this data, 41 ODGJ had their movements restricted. There has been no research, so it is necessary to conduct research to determine the description of shackling behavior in ODGJ in Empat Lawang Regency in 2025. Metodh: This research method uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design to explore the relationship between independent variables of social stigma, family knowledge, economic status, family support and access to health services on shackling behavior. Data collection was carried out from March to April 2025 with a sample size of 86 samples, the sampling method used was random sampling using a questionnaire adapted from Scaling Community Attitude Toward the Mentally Illness (CAMI)), the questionnaire consists of closed questions. Data were collected directly from respondents, namely the nuclear family or other family members. Results: of the Univariate Analysis study showed that 37.2% of ODGJ experienced shackles, 43.0% had stigma and 57.0% had poor knowledge, 51.2% had poor economic status, 40.7% were not supported by their families and 43.0% were far from health services. Bivariate Analysis p value <0.005 significant, Stigma p value (0.001) OR value = 4.534, family knowledge p value (0.002) OR value = 0.224, Economic Status p value (0.000) OR value = 0.152, Family support p value (0.000) OR value = 0.085) and Access to health services p value = 0.000) OR value = 0.106. The results of the multivariate analysis, the most dominant family support variable on shackling behavior p value = 0.031). Exp (B) value = 4.268. 95% Confidence interval (CI) C.I. for Exp(B)1.146 - 15.898. Suggestion:Need attention from Empat Lawang Regency government.   Keywords: Analysis, Pasung, ODGJ
