Abstract

Socialization and Training on Making Liquid Organic Fertilizer NPK in Ngelo Village, Jatiroto District, Wonogiri. Farmers in Ngelo Village have constraints such as dependence on chemical fertilizers and reductions in chemical fertilizer subsidies from the government. Chemical fertilizers can increase agricultural productivity, but their continued use can have a negative impact on the environment and human health. Organic fertilizers can be used as an alternative to chemical fertilizers. Using liquid organic fertilizers from crop residues and livestock manure can increase soil fertility and crop yields. The activity aims to provide socialization about the importance of organic fertilizer and training on making liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) to farmers. This activity is a UNS KKN 126 teamwork program in coordination with Ngelo village officials. The method used in this activity is a participatory method of the community, especially the Ngelo Village Farmer group. The activity phase includes 1) socialization and discussion, and 2) practice to produce LOF. The participants of the activity were farmers representing farmer groups in Ngelo Village. Socialization materials include the importance of organic fertilizer, how to make liquid organic fertilizer, and how to apply it. The practice of making liquid organic fertilizer is carried out by the group, and can produce organic liquid fertilizer. The program results showed socialization about organic fertilizer, followed enthusiastically by the Ngelo Village farmer group. From the program, it's hoped that farmers are expected to understand the importance of using organic fertilizers and independently, or in groups, can produce LOF to meet the organic fertilizers needed in the field.
