Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease characterized by systolic blood pressur mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure  mmHg. This condition is often accompanied by psychological disorders such as anxiety due to long-term treatment processes and concerns about the risk of complications. Five Finger Hypnosis Therapy is a non-pharmacological nursing method based on Evidence Based Nursing that can provide relaxation, stabilize hemodynamics, and reduce anxiety in hypertensive patients. This study used a case study design aimed at describing the results of the implementation of Five Finger Hypnosis Therapy in hypertensive patients at the Irina C3 Inpatient Ward of RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. The study was conducted for three days using a nursing process approach consisting of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through interviews, physical examinations, observations, medical records, and anxiety measurements using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The results showed a decrease in the HARS score from 25 (moderate anxiety) to 14 (mild anxiety), blood pressure from 175/95 mmHg to 140/80 mmHg, and pain scale from 6 to 2. Five Finger Hypnosis Therapy was proven to be effective, safe, and easy to implement in reducing anxiety and improving the stability of hypertensive patients’ conditions.
