Abstract

Abstrak - Akses internet yang stabil telah menjadi tulang punggung yang sangat penting bagi operasional pendidikan modern. Di MAN 2 Ciamis, infrastruktur Wi-Fi 100 Mbps sering mengalami ketidakstabilan yang signifikan selama jam-jam puncak penggunaan (jam sibuk). Penelitian ini mengevaluasi kondisi jaringan eksisting dan mengusulkan pendekatan struktural untuk memastikan distribusi bandwidth yang adil. Mengikuti kerangka kerja Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC), studi ini berfokus pada tahap analisis dan desain. Data primer diperoleh melalui observasi dan perekaman lalu lintas jaringan menggunakan perangkat lunak Wireshark di tiga titik lokasi utama. Metrik kinerja dievaluasi melalui kriteria Quality of Service (QoS) yaitu throughput, delay, jitter, dan packet loss berdasarkan standar TIPHON. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa meskipun delay (3,86 - 15,58 ms), jitter (< 0,01 ms), dan packet loss (0,009% - 0,33%) berada dalam rentang Sangat Bagus, throughput jatuh secara signifikan di bawah 1 Mbps akibat dominasi pengguna tertentu. Sebagai dampaknya, penelitian ini menghasilkan usulan desain manajemen lalu lintas data yang menggabungkan Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) untuk prioritas jalur dan Per Connection Queue (PCQ) guna menerapkan batas adil 2 Mbps per siswa. Implementasi rancangan ini diproyeksikan mampu menghilangkan monopoli bandwidth, sehingga menyediakan lingkungan jaringan yang andal dan merata untuk mendukung kegiatan akademik secara efektif. At MAN 2 Ciamis, the 100 Mbps Wi-Fi infrastructure frequently experiences significant instability during peak usage hours. This research evaluates the existing network conditions and proposes a structural approach to ensure fair bandwidth distribution. Following the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) framework, this study focuses on the analysis and design stages. Primary data was obtained through observation and network traffic recording using Wireshark software at three main location points. Performance metrics were evaluated using Quality of Service (QoS) criteria, namely throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss, based on TIPHON standards. The analysis results show that although delay (3.86 - 15.58 ms), jitter (< 0.01 ms), and packet loss (0.009% - 0.33%) are in the Excellent range, throughput drops significantly below 1 Mbps due to bandwidth dominance by specific users. As a result, this research produces a proposed data traffic management design combining Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) for route prioritization and Per Connection Queue (PCQ) to enforce a fair limit of 2 Mbps per student. The implementation of this design is projected to eliminate bandwidth monopoly, thereby providing a reliable and equitable network environment to effectively support academic activities.
