Abstract

This article discusses the philosophical relationship and horizon of social science as an integrative effort between the thoughts of philosophers and the scope of the development of social science as a structured discipline. Social science covers issues concerning society, individuals, social interactions, and institutions that shape human life. In this context, philosophical aspects provide essential ontological, epistemological, and axiological foundations in the development of social theories. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with a library research method, through content analysis of various relevant literature. The purpose of this study is to explain the importance of integration between the philosophical dimension and the horizon of social science in understanding social phenomena more comprehensively. The results of the study show that the relationship between philosophy and social science involves various approaches and paradigms that enrich the perspective on social reality. Theories from structuralism to social action show the dynamics between social structures and individual behaviour. In addition, the horizons of social science are closely linked to other disciplines such as economics, politics and psychology, making them relevant in addressing contemporary challenges. The findings confirm that philosophical approaches in social science are not only conceptual, but also provide practical contributions in formulating social policies that are more humane and inclusive.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the transformation of Palembang Malay politeness in the social interaction of the Arab Village Sei Bayas community, using an innovative socio-pragmatic approach. The main focus of this study is to identify politeness strategies as well as the community's ability to express directive speech acts politely and according to context. The phenomenon of shifting politeness values in Palembang Malay language practices is the main background of this research. The method used is qualitative, through observation and in-depth interviews with people in RT 02 and RT 26, with a total of 40 respondents and 4 representative speakers. Data analysis was conducted based on Searle's theory of directive speech acts, which includes forms of requests, questions, orders, prohibitions, giving permission, and advice. The results showed that directive speech acts in the form of requests dominated in 43 interaction situations. In addition, a significant influence of Javanese language on the forms of speech in the local Palembang Malay language was found. This finding confirms the process of politeness transformation influenced by cultural and language contact, as well as making an important contribution to the development of socio-pragmatic studies and understanding the linguistic dynamics of traditional communities in contemporary social contexts.

Abstract

Muncul dan berkembangnya intelektual Islam di Asia Tenggara berawal dari proses transmisi keislaman, ide-ide keislaman, dan bahkan pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Hal-hal semacam inilah yang membangkitkan para Ilmuwan Islam dalam mengembangkan dan menyebarluaskan pengetahuan yang didapatkannya, dan pada akhirnya akan terus berlanjut hingga saat ini. Hubungan yang begitu kuat terhadap keilmuan Islam yang ada di kota Haramain maka akan semakin kuat pengaruhnya terhadap ulama-ulama Nusantara. Dalam hal ini hubungan antara guru dan santri akan begitu berperan aktif serta ada pengaruh yang signifikan. Cara yang dilakukan dalam penyampaian pemikiran atau pandangan seorang guru yaitu dengan tradisi lisan, artinya bertemu langsung pada sang guru dalam konteks pembelajaran. Lambat laun dengan perkembangan zaman maka cara-cara seperti itu akan berubah pula. Hal ini terjadi diakibatkan dengan semakin bertambahnya jumlah masyarakat yang ternyata minat dan bakatnya merasa sangat ingin mempelajari agama Islam atau lebih mengenal agama Islam lebih lanjut. Dengan alasan mempermudah umat dalam mengenal ajarannya maka banyak akan diciptakan teks-teks karya ilmuwan muslim. Sumber-sumber pengetahuan dibangkitkan dari intelektual ulama klasik sendiri, hal ini menjadi dasar yang utama dalam mempermudah penyebaran agama Islam.
