The results of the research show that the trade network connecting the eastern and western hemispheres of the world is known as the spice route and its impact. towards the development of local cultural identity of Indonesian society. The spice route not only refers to the trade and shipping route for spice products, but also as a cultural heritage whose traces can still be found, such as in culinary, art, medicine, clothing, traditions and even art. At that time, merchandise such as cinnamon, pepper, cloves, nutmeg, sandalwood, rice, cotton and others were traded. This route is a symbol that connects the maritime civilization of the archipelago which is Indonesia's national pride so that it can provide a new contribution to understanding the complexity of the interaction between economic factors and cultural heritage in shaping the historical landscape of the archipelago.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe creative economy has become one of the drivers of national economic growth, especially in the context of rapid digitalization and globalization. However, communities in potential areas such as tourist villages still face various challenges, including limited skills, narrow market access, and minimal utilization of digital technology and online promotion. The "Ngecobar Bersama Gayatri" program is a community empowerment initiative based on collaboration and creativity, implemented in the Pantai Kembar area, Kebumen. This program aims to enhance the community’s capacity to manage local potential and develop superior products and services based on culture, local wisdom, and tourism. The program implementation involves four main stages: observation, outreach, training, and participatory mentoring. Observation is conducted to gain a holistic understanding of the community’s social conditions. Outreach and training focus on ecoprint techniques and product innovation, while business mentoring supports the sustainability of enterprises. The program engages approximately 150 participants from diverse backgrounds, including local communities around Pantai Kembar, MSME actors, housewives, youth groups, environmental communities, students, academics, and partners from local government and creative communities. Through this multi-stakeholder involvement, an inclusive and collaborative empowerment ecosystem is established. Results show increased community participation, the emergence of new creative products based on ecoprint, and active stakeholder engagement. The program fosters innovation, independence, and collaboration as essential foundations for building an inclusive and sustainable community-based tourism ecosystem. With the right approach and multi-stakeholder support, local challenges can be transformed into tangible opportunities that improve community welfare and economic growth. Keywords: Creative Economy, Gayatri, Ngecobar, Community-Based Tourism, Pantai Kembar, Community Empowerment.
