Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of deep learning-based practical work using simple tools on improving students' science process skills. The research method employs a quasi-experimental design with a one-shot case study approach. The sample consisted of 43 PGSD FKIP UIR students, with research instruments as observation sheets and questionnaires. The data obtained were analysed using prerequisite tests, specifically normality and hypothesis tests, including the t-test with a significance level 0.05. The normality test results showed that the data were normally distributed with a Sig value of 0.2 > 0.05. The hypothesis test results yielded a Sig value of 0.000 < 0.05, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. The results show a significant improvement in science process skills, including observing, classifying, measuring, and communicating. In conclusion, students' science process skills improve when applying the deep learning-based practical method using simple tools.  These findings indicate practical potential that can be used to support effective science learning for prospective teacher students.

Abstract

Science process skills are essential for prospective educators today, especially in the subject of IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies). The purpose of this study is to describe the science process skills of PGSD (Primary School Teacher Education) students in science learning at elementary schools. This research employs a quantitative descriptive method. The data was obtained through the analysis of student practical assignments in the elementary school science education course involving 113 students in the 2024/2025 academic year. The results of the study show that students achieved an excellent category in the observing indicator (89%); a good category in the questioning and predicting indicators (85%), planning and conducting investigations (80%), and communicating results (80%). However, students were only in the fair category for the processing and analyzing information indicator (72%) and the evaluating and reflecting indicator (75%). This condition is attributed to students not being adequately trained in processing and analyzing information, as well as in evaluating and reflecting on observational results—skills that require critical thinking to connect learned concepts. These findings indicate the need to strengthen learning to train students' critical thinking skills in science education.

Abstract

 This paper reports the implementation of character values, obstacles, and solutions for students, which is conducted at SDN 161 Pekanbaru. The research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used in the research include interviews, observation, and documentation. The research uses documentation because researchers conducted observations and interviews. Data collection tools used by researchers are observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the research material is checked by asking teachers and students about problem findings and further observations. The research results indicate that at SDN 161 Pekanbaru through the implementation of the character values of student discipline, time management discipline, the discipline of obeying school rules, discipline of behavior, and discipline of doing worship, which was achieved as expected student discipline character values.

Abstract

This article describes the inquiry method based on e-modules development and determines the validity of inquiry-based e-module development. The research described in this article is research and development with the ADDIE model, which was limited to the development stage. The validators of the research were tested by two material experts, two design experts, and two linguists. The data collection method used interviews, questionnaire validation sheets, and documentation. The result was e-module development based on the inquiry method process that began with the needs analysis stage, the curriculum, and the learning materials. Subsequently, the product design stage was conducted so that it could be continued at the validity stage. The development of e-modules on thematic learning in sub-theme 6 of theme 3 for grade V students of SDN 21 Pekanbaru could be applied as teaching and learning materials or student teaching handbooks. And it has found the criteria very well with an average validity percentage score of 95%. The module that was tested by design experts at 97%, material experts at 92%, and linguists with a percentage score of 97% were very valid to use. The researcher suggested that it is necessary to apply e-modules in order to determine the effectiveness and practicality in applying it during the teaching and learning process in the classroom.
