Abstract

Bridges are elements or parts of roads; traffic is a global problem. Bridges have a special role in transportation infrastructure because they are directly connected to other places, and used to cross rivers, roads, and valleys. Each structure has different needs, therefore there are already various types of bridges with materials that are often used in bridge construction, namely steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, or post-tensioned concrete. This paper aims to redesign the Canaan Bridge which almost collapsed. The method used in re-planning this bridge is a survey research method, the research location is Jalan Damai RT 07 Kanaan Village, Bontang City with a length of 15-17 meters and a width of 5.8 meters. The results of the research and planning results related to the reconstruction of wooden bridges into composite bridges, it can be concluded that the planning uses FC' 25 concrete quality, HB 450.300.9.16 for girder profiles, and HB 350.175.6.9 for the diaphragm and elastomer placement 400x350x39mm. The analysis of the lower structure uses an abutment measuring 4,073 meters in height and 1,880 meters in width. For the foundation, use a mini pile foundation with a size of 250x250 with a depth of 18 meters.

Abstract

Building construction such as bridges, and flyovers. are constructions that need by the public. The selection of the foundation must be done carefully so that it loads above it. Pile planning is one of the solutions in choosing the right foundation. The simple, and relatively inexpensive working method makes the use of the pile method much in demand by planners in various parts of the world. Testing the bearing capacity of the pile is one of the pile work items. where this can ensure quality and quantity in the implementation of the work of this piling method.

Abstract

The poor drainage system is a big issue for giving good road construction quality. Because the beneath is a drainage system. Batam City is the fastest growing city in transportation wise, but the hydrological cycle creates floods in areas that have poor systematical performance. Despite its importance, the assessment of the Effects Poor Drainage System in Batam is far from enough. Sub-district Nagoya in Batam City is chosen as the research area due to having a poor drainage system and flooding when heavy rain falls. To assess this research, a survey is conducted on the field. The data is achieved by the qualitative method and compared the effectiveness of drainage systems to other advanced countries with great drainage systems. The result is shown that Batam City is far from having proper systematical drainage due to the buildup of garbage and sedimentation by sand and soil. Hence this still could result from overflow and cover the road pavements that could lead to a domino effect by scraping the asphalt aggregates, creating damages and effects such as potholes, puddles, traffic congestion, and accidents in the driveway.

Abstract

Road congestion is a severe problem faced in many big cities worldwide. This study aims to analyze road users' satisfaction level with road congestion and the factors that contribute to their perceptions of Jalan Duyung in front of Batu Ampar Harbor in Batam City. Roads should be balanced with the adequacy and availability of transportation infrastructure and facilities to prevent traffic problems. Traffic lights aim to optimize and regulate traffic to run optimally. Based on research that has been done, traffic jams can have an impact on the economy, psychology, and productivity of road users.

Abstract

The improvement of road infrastructure plays an important role in ensuring the prosperity of nations all over the world. Indonesia is also taking part in the development of road infrastructure in each region. In the province of Banten, Pandeglang Regency has some of its finest natural and economic potentials. To encourage economic connectivity to the surrounding districts, the development of this potential must be supported by appropriate infrastructure development. Planning a connecting road for the Munjul Sindangresmi could be a way to shorten the flow of traffic in the Munjul sub-district. The route was planned manually using the AutoCAD(R) 2D application, Google Earth Pro, Global Mapper, and other supporting applications. Planning begins with determining the road alignment plan, which is then projected on the plan location map. Then, apply the topographic map observations from remote imagery mapping. After that, continue with the road geometry design calculation depending on the location of the chosen route. The requirements that must be followed while determining the road geometry—which in this case is a horizontal alignment—refer to the Road Geometry Design Guidelines that were published by the Directorate General of Highways in 2021. The road geometry planning results in this journal have a length of 2.3 Km with a horizontal alignment design consisting of 3 horizontal curves, 2 Spiral - Circle - Spiral (SCS) curves, and 1 Full Circle arc. To assess the value of the economic and safety benefits of this road design, future planning for this road should consider the amount of embankment excavations as well as a project feasibility study.

Abstract

Rapid economic growth and a significant population necessitate efficient road functioning to facilitate community needs in terms of time, costs, income, health, comfort, and safety. Geometric road design serves as the cornerstone of road safety considerations and places significant emphasis on the strategic placement of symmetrical physical road components. This research is about planning the geometric design of the Serpong - Balaraja toll road, especially the horizontal alignment and this aims to know the planning of the toll road, the research conducted on Serpong – Balaraja Toll Road, located in Tangerang Regency in South Tangerang City. The road starts from STA 0+000 to 5+150. This study employs a measurable approach, where the data collected is derived mathematically using established formulas. The data utilized consists of primary data, specifically situation maps, road traffic information, and topographical details extracted from Google Earth. The results of the planning showed that there are four bends in this road. The first and the fourth bend is full circle type with a radius of 850 m; the curved length (Lc) for the first bend is 86.37 m, and the second bend is 45.994 m. Second is the spiral-spiral (SS) type, with a 160 m radius and a curved length (Ls) of 122.690 m. third is the spiral-circle-spiral (SCS) type with a 350 m radius, with a curved length (Ls) of 40 m. The calculation of this planning bases on road geometric design guidelines 2021.

Abstract

This study conducted a case study on Waecicu Road in NTT to evaluate its compliance with the Indonesian Road Geometric Design Guidelines 2021. It aims to revolutionize the process of road assessment by utilizing the power of open-source Google Earth. The study found that Google Earth's features, such as satellite imagery, 3D modeling, and measurement tools, provide a powerful and cost-effective means to assess road geometry, including lane width, slope, and curvature. Using Google Earth, road engineers and planners can quickly identify problem areas and take necessary measures to improve road safety and compliance with standards. The study's findings could contribute to developing more effective and efficient road assessment techniques, particularly in areas with limited resources and infrastructure.
