Abstrak GenerasiZterkenaldekat denganmedia digitaldanmedia sosial. Meskidemikian, kedekatan initidakselalu berartimereka mampu memahamiinformasidarimedia secara kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuanuntukmengetahuiseberapa baikGenerasiZdalammemahamiinformasi media, menggunakanpendekatandariilmukomunikasi. Metodeyangdigunakanadalahstudi pustaka denganmenganalisisartikeljurnalilmiah lima tahun terakhir yang membahastentang literasi digital, cara Generasi Zmenggunakan media, sertabagaimana pesandalamkomunikasi dipahami. Hasilnya menunjukkanbahwameskipunGenerasiZbisamengaksesdan menggunakanmediadigitaldenganbaik, mereka masihkurangmampumenilaisumberinformasi , membedakanfaktadanpendapat,sertamemahamikonteksdancara pesandibentukdalam media. TemuaninimenunjukkanbahwaliterasidigitalGenerasiZtidakbisa diukur hanya dari seberapa seringmereka menggunakanmedia, melainkandarikemampuanmereka dalam memahamidanmenerjemahkaninformasi. Dengandemikian, ilmukomunikasisangat penting dalammenjelaskanbagaimanaprosesmemahamipesanmediamemengaruhitingkat literasi digital Generasi Z. Abstract Generation Z is known for their close relationship with digital and social media. However, this close relationship does not always mean they are able to critically understand information fromthe media. This study aims to determine howwell Generation Zunderstands information media, using an approach fromcommunication science. The method usedis aliterature study by analyzing scientific journal articles from the last five years that discuss digital literacy, how Generation Z uses media, and howmessagesincommunicationareunderstood. Theresults showthat although Generation Z can access andusedigital media well, they still lack the ability to assess information sources, distinguish facts from opinions, and understand the context and NamaPenulis/Kontekstual 1(1) Juni 2021: hal- hal 2 howmessagesareformedinthemedia. Thesefindingsindicate that Generation Z's digital literacy cannot be measured solely by howoften they use media, but rather by their ability to understand and interpret information.
