Abstract

Energy conservation has not received sufficient consideration in national energy management. Increasing the country's energy supply. Meanwhile, improving public access has been the main objective of energy management in recent years. Increased use of fossil fuels and the provision of electricity in rural regions have made this possible. This study aimed to determine how the mixture of ethanol, Nyamplung, and diesel oil (B0, B30, B30E10, and Pertadex) affected the physical and chemical properties and performance of a single-cylinder diesel engine. In this study, an experimental method was employed to evaluate the effect of mixing Nyamplung biodiesel with ethanol and to determine the biodiesel composition. The study found that the viscosity and density of liquid fuels affected engine performance. Diesel engines experience incomplete combustion because fuel viscosity decreases with increasing engine temperature. Higher mechanical power had correlated with lower effective power because longer rotations cause greater friction. B30 fuel exhibited higher Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC) after the addition of ethanol. High or low thermal value efficiency was the level of heat contained in the fuel. The addition of 10% ethanol to B30E10 as a fuel mixture is able to produce lower carbon dioxide emissions.
