The increasingly complex environmental crisis requires educational approaches that are oriented not only toward knowledge acquisition but also toward the development of environmental awareness and environmentally responsible character. From an Islamic perspective, human beings bear the responsibility of serving as khalifah fil ardh (stewards on Earth), entrusted with preserving and protecting the environment. This study aims to analyze the representation of Islamic ecological values in Green Education-based claymation media, examine the process of value internalization through Islamic Religious Education (PAI), and investigate changes in students’ ecological awareness following the implementation of the media. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach as part of a research and development project involving Green Education-based educational media for PAI. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, documentation, and field notes involving fifth-grade students at SDN 28 Parepare. The findings revealed that the claymation media represented Islamic ecological values, including maintaining environmental cleanliness, disposing of waste properly, planting and caring for vegetation, preserving nature, and avoiding environmentally destructive behaviors. These values reflect the concept of khalifah fil ardh, which was internalized through storytelling, classroom discussions, and reflective learning activities. The implementation of the media also contributed to an improvement in students’ ecological awareness, as indicated by their increased concern for environmental cleanliness and the sustainability of the school environment. These findings confirm that Green Education-based claymation media function not only as instructional media but also as a means of internalizing Islamic ecological values and strengthening ecological awareness in Islamic Religious Education learning.
