Abstract

This study specifically aims to provide solutions to problems in learning Arabic, especially in writing skills. This study focuses on the implementation of the learning model project based learning (PjBL) in Arabic language learning. This study was applied using one-group pre-test post-test design, which compares the learning outcomes of students before and after treatment without a control group. The method used is a quasi-experiment using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results showed a change in the paradigm of learning, which initially focused on the Learning Center educator (teacher-centered) switch to learners (student-centered). This study succeeded in increasing the involvement of students, and showed an increase in students ' writing skills. This is evident in the results of the analysis of pre-test and post-test scores using the wilcoxon test with a significance value (Z= -4.871; P <0.01) which shows that Ha is accepted and shows the significance of learners ' scores. This study has a novelty that specifically measures the improvement of writing skills through a real product in the form of Arabic concept maps, in contrast to previous studies that focused on learning interests. So that this study is able to provide practical implications for educators, namely analyzing and adopting the results of this study as a consideration and guidance in implementing a learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in Arabic speaking skills between female students in classes VII A and VII B participating in the speech program (muhadharah) at the Darussalam Sengon Islamic Boarding School in Jombang. It also seeks to determine the effectiveness of the speech program in developing the students' speaking skills. A quantitative comparative research approach was employed. The study population consisted of 40 female students—20 from class VII A and 20 from class VII B—selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through speaking skill tests covering pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary mastery, grammar, and comprehension. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent sample t-tests via SPSS software. The results indicate a difference in Arabic speaking skills between the students of class VII A and class VII B within the speech program. These differences were evident in aspects such as speaking fluency, pronunciation accuracy, vocabulary mastery, grammatical accuracy, and self-confidence during speech delivery. The program contributed positively to the improvement of Arabic speaking skills, although the level of proficiency achieved differed between the classes. This study provides empirical evidence regarding the variation in Arabic speaking skills between two classes participating in the speech program within an Islamic boarding school setting. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for Islamic educational institutions in developing the *muhadharah* program as a more effective learning strategy to enhance students' speaking skills
