Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of E-Channel as an instrument of Islamic financial inclusion in the digital era. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach with literature review from Bank Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority, and various related research results. The results of the study show that E-Channel contributes significantly to increasing Islamic financial literacy and inclusion, especially through easy access to halal financial services for people in remote areas. However, challenges such as low digital literacy, cybersecurity, and infrastructure readiness still need to be a common concern. This study concludes that the development of E-Channels in banking has a significant role in expanding Islamic financial inclusion and strengthening the Islamic financial system in the digital era. Through service innovations such as mobile banking, internet banking, sharia ATMs, and Sharia QRIS, people gain ease of access to various financial products, including savings, microfinancing, and digital zakat. The increase in transaction efficiency and transparency resulting from the use of E-Channels strengthens public trust in Islamic financial institutions and encourages the creation of a safer, faster, and well-documented financial system. Thus, E-Channel not only serves as a financial technology instrument, but also as a manifestation of Islamic ethical values in expanding inclusive and equitable economic access. However, the effectiveness of E-Channel implementation still faces challenges in the form of low digital literacy, data security risks, and infrastructure limitations in rural areas that need to be overcome through cross-agency synergy and community capacity building.

Abstract

The primary challenge faced by individuals with hearing impairments lies in the process of communication with hearing individuals, particularly because sign language possesses grammatical rules and structural systems that differ significantly from both spoken and written languages, including Indonesian and English. These differences affect their ability to comprehend and construct linguistic structures in written form. This study aims to analyze the role of English language structure in shaping language comprehension among individuals with hearing impairments. This research employs a qualitative approach using a critical ethnographic method involving 12 deaf participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation of written interactions via digital media (WhatsApp). The data were analyzed thematically, with a focus on patterns of language use and sentence structure. The findings indicate that limited access to spoken language results in restricted vocabulary among participants, leading to less systematic sentence construction. Furthermore, sign language does not fully conform to the structural rules of verbal languages, which creates challenges in transferring meaning into written form. Specifically, 83% of participants demonstrated better comprehension of simple English structures compared to the more complex and affix-rich structures of Indonesian. This can be attributed to the relatively simpler grammatical patterns of English, which are more easily processed visually. The practical implications of this study highlight the need for adaptive language learning strategies for individuals with hearing impairments. These strategies should emphasize simplified structures, visual-based instruction, and bilingual approaches that take into account the unique characteristics of sign language.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an integrative conceptual framework between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and maqâshid al-syarî‘ah within the discourse of Islamic sustainable development. This objective is grounded in the growing criticism that contemporary sustainability discourse remains largely shaped by technocratic and secular-developmentalist assumptions, which often prioritize institutional performance, economic growth, and measurable indicators while overlooking ethical, spiritual, and civilizational dimensions of human well-being. Methodologically, this study employs a qualitative conceptual review using Critical Interpretive Synthesis supported by a PRISMA-inspired literature screening procedure. Literature was collected from Scopus, ScienceDirect, Dimensions, Crossref, and Google Scholar using keywords related to SDGs, maqâshid al-syarî‘ah, Islamic sustainable development, Islamic sustainability, and Islamic environmental ethics. The review focused on peer-reviewed and indexed scholarly publications published between 2021 and 2026. From 86 initially identified records, 41 publications were retained after preliminary screening, and 19 core studies were selected for thematic coding and conceptual synthesis. The findings reveal substantial convergence between SDGs and maqâshid al-syarî‘ah in relation to justice, welfare, environmental stewardship, social sustainability, transcendental accountability, moral responsibility, and civilizational balance. This study concludes that Islamic sustainable development should not be positioned merely as a religious adaptation of global sustainability agendas, but as an ethical-civilizational paradigm capable of enriching and reconstructing contemporary sustainability theory.
