Abstract

This paper examines how Shopee, Southeast Asia’s leading e-commerce platform, integrates supply chain innovation, electronic marketing, and management to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving digital economy. Shopee’s success stems from its dynamic capabilities, especially data analytics and operational flexibility in responding to intense competition from Tokopedia, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. Using Porter’s Five Forces and PESTEL, this study highlights challenges such as low switching costs, strong buyer power, and rapid technological change, emphasizing the need for continuous strategic adaptation. Shopee’s electronic supply chain management and e-procurement systems improve efficiency and responsiveness, particularly in Indonesia’s complex geography. Vertical integration through Shopee Express, Shopee Hub, and tracking systems strengthens its value chain while supporting SMEs and enhancing customer satisfaction. Its mobile-centric marketing strategy, including live commerce, influencers, gamification, and personalized content, drives acquisition and retention. By leveraging consumer behavior favoring fast, interactive transactions, Shopee reduces friction in the purchasing process. Growing competition, especially TikTok’s ecosystem expansion, further intensifies the importance of trust and engagement. Overall, Shopee’s integrated approach to supply chain and digital marketing creates an innovation-driven model that strengthens its competitive position and supports digital inclusion across Southeast Asia. This model not only enhances operational resilience but also enables scalability in emerging markets. By aligning technology, logistics, and consumer engagement, Shopee maintains relevance amid shifting digital trends. Consequently, it remains a dominant platform shaping e-commerce development and empowering regional entrepreneurs to participate in the digital economy more effectively and sustainably over time, while fostering innovation, inclusivity, and long-term economic growth.

Abstract

The creator economy is transforming digital entrepreneurship, with individuals monetizing content through online platforms. Projected to grow significantly in the following decade, this sector thrives on AI-driven personalization, blockchain monetization, and demand for authentic content. However, financial instability, algorithmic dependence, and income unpredictability persist, with the majority of creators relying primarily on brand deals. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed publications using VOSviewer to visualize publication metrics, geographical networks, and keyword co-occurrences, followed by a literature review. Findings reveal key research themes and challenges, including monetization volatility, regulatory concerns, and platform dependency. To foster a sustainable creator economy, diversification of revenue streams, platform transparency, and supportive policies are essential. Insights from this study can guide content creators in strategic decisions, assist platforms in improving creator support, and inform stakeholders and policymakers in shaping fairer digital labor regulations, ensuring long-term financial stability and innovation.

Abstract

In the pursuit of sustainable development, data-driven decision-making is essential. This study explores the pivotal roles that official statistics, systematically produced by national statistical offices and related agencies, play in advancing sustainability agendas. While extensive research has examined big data and sustainability metrics, the specific contributions of official statistics remain underexplored. To bridge this gap, the study employs a mixed-methods approach combining bibliometric analysis and a structured literature review. A total of 865 Scopus-indexed documents were analyzed to map the intellectual landscape, disciplinary scopes, and thematic clusters associated with the intersection of official statistics and sustainability. The results reveal a growing scholarly interest, with a dominant presence in decision sciences, social sciences, economics, and business fields, and emerging contributions in engineering, environmental sciences, and medicine. Official statistics are found to support sustainability by enabling evidence-based governance, monitoring progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and fostering accountability and transparency. Thematic cluster analysis further highlights the roles of official statistics in policy modeling, health surveillance, environmental monitoring, and socio-economic planning. However, gaps in disciplinary engagement and geographical representation signal the need for greater integration and capacity-building, particularly in data-intensive scientific domains. This study underscores the strategic value of official statistics as a public good, and recommends strengthening statistical systems, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhancing data accessibility. These actions are vital to align national and global sustainability efforts with reliable, standardized, and inclusive statistical evidence.
