<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model using the Board Elements of Circle (BEC) teaching aid on students’ critical thinking skills in the topic of circles at MTs N 2 Padangsidimpuan. This research employed an experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of the study consisted of two classes, namely class VIII-6 as the experimental group and class VIII-5 as the control group, each consisting of 16 students. The research instrument was a critical thinking skills test that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests with the help of SPSS 27 software. The results showed that the data were normally distributed with an Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.200 > 0.05, and homogeneous with Sig. values of 0.315 > 0.05 for the experimental class and 0.198 > 0.05 for the control class. The average pretest score of the experimental class was 48.8 (poor category), which increased to 89.3 (excellent category) in the posttest. Meanwhile, the control class had an average pretest score of 52 (poor category) and a posttest score of 82 (good category). The t-test results indicated a correlation value between the two variables of 0.156 with a significance level of 0.039 < 0.05, which means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning model using the Board Elements of Circle (BEC) is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills on the topic of circles at MTsN 2 Padangsidimpuan.]]>
