Abstract

Modern librarians are required to continuously develop their competencies and possess professional leadership qualities. This study aims to identify the role of librarian leadership in supporting development instruments and strategies that can influence and direct undergraduate law students to improve their information literacy skills. This is important considering that law students are required to be able to access, listen to, and use legal information critically, appropriately, and responsibly in the learning process and scientific practice. This study uses a literature study approach with a descriptive design. The results show that librarian leadership plays an important role in improving the information literacy of users, especially undergraduate law students, which includes the ability to search, disseminate, and use information effectively. This role is realized through: (1) a targeted library service management strategy, (2) forward-looking library management, (3) the development of creative and innovative thinking in information services, and (4) professional transformation in the library environment. Information literacy in the library environment has a strategic role in shaping undergraduate law students who are critical, analytical, careful, and responsible in managing legal information. Mastery of information literacy helps students navigate the complexities of digital legal information developments, while improving the quality of learning, legal research, and preparedness for future legal professional practice.
