Abstract

Yogyakarta International Airport (IATA: YIA, ICAO: WAHI) is an airport located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, with a terminal area of 219 hectares and a runway measuring 3,250 × 45 meters, capable of accommodating up to 20 million passengers annually. This study analyzes the damage occurring in the airport terminal area using a descriptive qualitative method through field observations and interviews. The observation results indicate that the terminal has experienced minor structural damage. The earthquake-resistant building assessment was conducted by classifying the airport under a seismic spectrum category of 0.8 (Risk Category II according to SNI 1726:2019) with an importance factor (Ie) of 1.0. Structural analysis was performed using SAP2000 V22 software with beam and column dimensions of 40 × 40 cm, concrete compressive strength (f’c) of 35 MPa, and steel yield strength (fy) of 240 MPa. The analysis results demonstrate that the structural design remains feasible as a reference for an earthquake-resistant building, as evidenced by the structural performance graphs generated from SAP2000 V22 calculations. Damage repair methods may include epoxy injection for crack treatment and reconstruction of severely damaged structural elements to ensure the continuity of airport operations and maintain optimal service performance.
