Abstract

ABSTRACT Organizational communication is an important aspect in supporting employee work effectiveness, particularly in public service institutions. However, communication barriers such as misunderstandings, ineffective coordination, and delays in information delivery are still commonly found in government work environments. This study aimed to identify organizational communication barriers in Meruya Utara Village Office and examine the effectiveness of communication intervention activities in improving coordination and teamwork among employees. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method supported by quantitative data from pre-test and post-test results. Data were collected through observations, informal interviews, questionnaires, and communication intervention activities. The interventions were conducted through three activities, namely Miscommunication Challenge, Puzzle Information, and Pundak Lutut Kaki. The findings revealed that prior to the intervention, communication barriers were identified in the form of information misunderstandings, lack of work coordination, and delays in information delivery among employees. After the intervention, improvements were found in all aspects of organizational communication, including understanding of work information from 68% to 87%, ease of obtaining information from 65% to 85%, accuracy of information delivery from 70% to 89%, communication openness from 67% to 86%, and effectiveness of work communication from 69% to 88%. These findings indicate that interactive intervention activities were effective in improving organizational communication, work coordination, and teamwork among employees in the village office environment. This study contributes by applying a group activity-based communication intervention model in public service institutions at the village government level, which remains relatively underexplored. ABSTRAK Komunikasi organisasi merupakan aspek penting dalam mendukung efektivitas kerja pegawai, khususnya pada instansi pelayanan publik. Namun, hambatan komunikasi seperti kesalahpahaman informasi dan kurang optimalnya koordinasi kerja masih ditemukan dalam pelaksanaan pelayanan di lingkungan pemerintahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hambatan komunikasi organisasi di Kelurahan Meruya Utara serta mengetahui efektivitas kegiatan intervensi komunikasi dalam meningkatkan koordinasi dan kerja sama antarpegawai. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan dukungan data kuantitatif berupa hasil pre-test dan post-test. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara nonformal, penyebaran kuesioner, serta pelaksanaan intervensi komunikasi. Intervensi dilakukan melalui tiga kegiatan, yaitu Miscommunication Challenge, Puzzle Information, dan Pundak Lutut Kaki. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum intervensi masih ditemukan hambatan komunikasi berupa kesalahpahaman informasi, kurangnya koordinasi kerja, dan keterlambatan penyampaian informasi antarpegawai. Setelah pelaksanaan intervensi, terjadi peningkatan pada seluruh aspek komunikasi kerja, yaitu pemahaman informasi kerja dari 68% menjadi 87%, kemudahan memperoleh informasi dari 65% menjadi 85%, ketepatan penyampaian informasi dari 70% menjadi 89%, keterbukaan komunikasi dari 67% menjadi 86%, serta efektivitas komunikasi kerja dari 69% menjadi 88%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan intervensi interaktif mampu meningkatkan komunikasi organisasi, koordinasi kerja, dan kerja sama antarpegawai di lingkungan kelurahan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi berupa penerapan model intervensi komunikasi berbasis aktivitas kelompok pada instansi pelayanan publik tingkat kelurahan yang masih relatif jarang diteliti.
