Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management concept of madrasah principals in improving leadership quality within Islamic educational institutions. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by examining relevant national and international journal articles published over the last ten years. The selected literature was identified, screened, analyzed, and synthesized systematically based on publication quality, relevance, and research focus. The findings reveal that effective madrasah principal management, encompassing planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision, significantly strengthens leadership quality, enhances teacher professionalism, promotes a positive organizational culture, and improves the overall quality of Islamic education. In addition, leadership supervision grounded in Islamic values, including amanah (trustworthiness), justice, and deliberation, supports sustainable and value-based leadership practices. The integration of managerial functions with Islamic leadership principles provides a comprehensive conceptual framework for strengthening leadership effectiveness in madrasahs. The study implies that adopting an integrated managerial and Islamic leadership approach can serve as a practical reference for madrasah principals while contributing to the theoretical development of Islamic educational management.

Abstract

Untuk terciptanya pengelolaan manajemen pendidikan yang baik, dibutuhkan sosok pemimpin yang baik juga. Dalam ranah pendidikan, seorang pemimpin haruslah mampu untuk memberi pengaruh sebagai suri tauladan bagi anggota yang dipimpinnya. Namun, dalam penyelenggaraan proses pendidikan sering kali dihadapkan dengan berbagai tantangan dan masalah, baik saat perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Artikel ini disusun dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif secara lebih spesisifk, metode yang digunakan dalam menyusun artikel ini adalah Systematic Literatur Review (SLR), yaitu sebuah metode yang dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan berikut, 1) Klasifikasi dan Penentuan pendekatan, 2) Pencarian artikel, 3) Penyeleksian artikel, 4) Analisis dan interpretasi data, 5) Draf artikel, dan 6) Diseminasi hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, pemahaman akan konsep manajemen dan kepemimpinan dalam satuan lembaga pendidikan islam itu sangat berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan dan efektivitas sistem pengelolaan pendidikan islam. Dan itu semua akan jauh lebih baik bila mana menggunakan strategi yang relevan. Contoh strategi yang diterapkan di salah satu lembaga pendidikan islam, yaitu Pertama, menerapkan   fungsi-fungsi   MPI   secara   konsisten   dan   komprehensif   yang   meliputi, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan/pengarahan, dan pengawasan. Kedua, menerapkan empat strategi pengelolaan yakni, strategi substantif, strategi bottom-up, strategi deregulatory, dan strategi cooperative. To create good educational management, a good leader is also needed. In the realm of education, a leader must be able to influence as a role model for the members he leads. However, in the implementation of the educational process, various challenges and problems are often faced, both during planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities. This article was compiled using a more specific qualitative method, the method used in compiling this article is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which is a method carried out with the following stages, 1) Classification and Determination of the approach, 2) Searching for articles, 3) Selection of articles, 4) Analysis and interpretation of data, 5) Drafting articles, and 6) Dissemination of results. The research results show that understanding the concepts of management and leadership within Islamic educational institutions significantly impacts the improvement and effectiveness of the Islamic education management system. This will be even better if relevant strategies are used. Examples of strategies implemented in one Islamic educational institution include: first, consistently and comprehensively implementing MPI functions, including organizing, implementing/directing, and supervising. Second, implementing four management strategies: substantive strategies, bottom-up strategies, deregulatory strategies, and cooperative strategies.
