Abstract

Perilaku pasar terdapat dua saluran pemasaran. Saluran Pemasaran I Petani-pedagang pengumpul-pedagang perantara-pedagang besar. Saluran pemasaran II petani-pedagang perantara-pedagang besar. Pada Saluran Pemasaran sebanyak 81,5% petani. Pada saluran pemasaran II sebanyak 18,4% petani. Kinerja pasar merupakan hasil analisis margin pemasaran, saluran pemasaran I mempunyai margin sebesar Rp 500/Kg, sedangkan saluran pemasaran II sebesar Rp 1000/Kg. Abstract

The presence of weed vegetation is one of the main limiting factors in increasing the productivity of paddy fields in the semi-arid region of Kupang Regency. This study aims to identify the species composition and analyse the community structure of weeds in the paddy field agro-ecosystem in Mata Air Village using the Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) parameter. The study was conducted using a quadrat method with 24 sample plots (0.25 m²) laid out randomly. Data were analysed quantitatively to determine Relative Density (RD), Relative Frequency (RF), and SDR. The results identified three main groups of weeds with varying levels of dominance. Sedges were the most dominant group with the highest SDR value (38.74%), driven by a very high individual density in the field (RD 47.85%). Grasses ranked second (SDR 31.64%), followed by broadleaves with an SDR value of 29.62%. Although they had the lowest dominance, broad-leaved weeds exhibited the most even spatial distribution across the study area (FR 38.89%). The combined dominance of sedges and grasses, which exceeded 70%, indicates that competition for nutrients and space at the study site is heavily influenced by monocotyledonous vegetation. These findings suggest the need for the integration of intensive soil management and appropriate water management as part of an Integrated Weed Management (IWM) strategy in Mata Air Village. Keywords: weeds, vegetation analysis, mata air village, paddy fields, SDR

Abstract

Cocoa productivity is influenced by soil fertility, particularly soil chemical properties that play an important role in nutrient availability for plants. This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of several soil chemical properties in cocoa plantations with different productivity levels in Malaka Regency. The research was conducted in high- and low-productivity cocoa blocks through purposive soil sampling. Laboratory analyses were carried out on several soil chemical parameters, including soil pH, organic C, available N, available P, available K, cation exchange capacity (CEC), and electrical conductivity (EC). The results showed that the high-productivity block had higher levels of organic C, nitrate-N (N-NO₃), available K, and CEC compared to the low-productivity block. Available P content in both blocks was classified as low and was suspected to be a limiting factor for cocoa growth. Soil pH values in both blocks were categorized as neutral and remained suitable for cocoa cultivation. Meanwhile, EC values in the low-productivity block were higher than those in the high-productivity block, indicating greater accumulation of soluble salts in the soil. This condition was supported by the presence of salinity symptoms observed in the field, such as drying and death of cocoa plants in the low-productivity block. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that cocoa blocks with high productivity had relatively better soil chemical properties than low-productivity blocks. Differences in soil chemical properties, particularly organic matter content, available N, available K, CEC, and salinity level, were suspected to influence cocoa productivity in Malaka Regency. Keywords: cocoa, soil chemical properties, productivity, salinity, soil fertility
