Abstract

The increasing investment of South Korean companies in Indonesia has created wider employment opportunities for Indonesian workers in industrial sectors related to Korean companies. However, access to Korean language learning based on industrial needs, especially Employment Permit System-Test of Proficiency in Korean (EPS-TOPIK), is still limited in rural areas. This community service activity aimed to introduce basic Korean language skills and Korean work culture to factory workers and the community in Tarumajaya Village, Kertasari District, Bandung Regency. The implementation methods included interactive lectures, discussions, and simple language practice focusing on Hangeul, industrial vocabulary, and basic workplace expressions. The results showed that participants gained a better understanding of Korean language basics, industrial communication, and Korean work culture. Participants also showed high enthusiasm and motivation to continue learning Korean as preparation for employment opportunities in Korean companies both in Indonesia and South Korea. Therefore, this activity is expected to become an initial step in improving community readiness and competitiveness in facing global industrial development.

Abstract

Burnout among healthcare professionals, particularly in the nursing profession, has transformed into a global occupational crisis with multidimensional destructive impacts. This condition is triggered by chronic workloads resulting in emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment. The impact not only threatens the psychological well-being of nurses through depression and compassion fatigue but also compromises service quality and patient safety, as nurses often become trapped in a mechanical, unconscious autopilot work rhythm. This article employs a qualitative approach through a literature review combined with narrative reflection to examine the determinants of burnout and the effectiveness of mindfulness interventions in care settings. The review of various literature, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses empirically confirms that mindfulness can significantly reduce emotional exhaustion and boost cognitive resilience. Through the pillars of attention regulation and orientation to experience, this intervention trains the nurses' brains to respond to workloads adaptively rather than reacting impulsively. Simple practices amidst clinical routines enable nurses to reclaim their presence fully in every medical encounter. In conclusion, mindfulness strategically functions as a mental shield that protects nurses psychologically, while simultaneously acting as a guardian of human aesthetics to ensure care remains rooted in empathy. However, this individual effectiveness must be supported by structural reforms from healthcare institutions to create a holistic and healthy work ecosystem.
