Abstract

The study aims to explore the feasibility and effectiveness of the E-Bookstory learning media in improving the reading literacy of fourth-grade elementary school students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method with a sample of 18 fourth-grade students. The media development procedure included the stages of needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques included observation, questionnaires, and tests administered using instruments such as expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and reading literacy tests. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative descriptive methods to assess the media’s validity and practicality, and inferential analysis via a one-group pretest-posttest design to evaluate the media’s effectiveness. The research results indicate that the E-Bookstory media has a very high level of validity, as determined by expert media evaluations. The practicality test also revealed that the media falls into the “very practical” category according to practitioners/teachers and is easy to use in the learning process. Furthermore, the use of the E-Bookstory media has been shown to enhance students’ reading literacy skills, as evidenced by improved learning outcomes after its implementation compared to before. Thus, the E-Bookstory platform is valid, practical, and effective in improving the reading literacy of elementary school students in Indonesian language instruction. This platform can be used as an interactive digital learning tool to support the development of students’ reading literacy skills.
