Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals have placed education at the center of global efforts to build a more equitable and sustainable world, yet much of the discourse still treats sustainability as a cognitive and policy matter, leaving its moral and spiritual foundations underdeveloped. Within this gap, Islamic Religious Education holds considerable but insufficiently theorized potential, since existing studies tend to affirm the correspondence between Islamic values and sustainability without explaining how it becomes educationally consequential. This study aims to reconstruct how Integrative Islamic Religious Education can serve as a strategic framework for embedding sustainability values within character education. Employing a qualitative library research design through a systematic library review, it analyzes peer-reviewed scholarship published between 2015 and 2025 using thematic content analysis. The findings show that integration operates not by adding new content but through value internalization, curriculum contextualization, and experiential learning, in which principles such as ‘adl (justice), amanah (responsibility), rahmah (compassion), and khalifah fil ardh (stewardship of the earth) are aligned with sustainability as shared moral commitments rather than imposed secular targets. The analysis locates integration at the axiological rather than the epistemological level and identifies pedagogy as the decisive mechanism that translates values into sustainable character. The principal implication concerns transformational education and learning, since the study frames Islamic ethical values as interpretive frames through which learners are reoriented toward sustainability at the level of disposition and worldview, offering a religiously grounded model of transformational pedagogy that now awaits empirical testing.

Abstract

The transformation of educational paradigms has increasingly emphasized the importance of inner development as a fundamental component of meaningful learning. This study aims to analyze how inner development contributes to the transformation of educational practices and institutional culture. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research by analyzing various academic sources, including scholarly journals, academic books, and research reports related to transformative education and inner development. The findings indicate that contemporary education is shifting from a traditional knowledge-transmission model toward a transformative and reflective learning paradigm. This shift highlights the importance of developing inner capacities such as self-awareness, empathy, ethical responsibility, and reflective thinking. These capacities play a crucial role in enabling learners to understand themselves, interact constructively with others, and respond to complex social and environmental challenges. The study also identifies several pedagogical approaches that support inner development, including transformative learning, experiential learning, and reflective dialogue. In addition, the findings reveal that interdisciplinary integration involving educational psychology, leadership studies, and sustainability education contributes significantly to the development of holistic educational practices. Based on these findings, this study proposes a conceptual framework called the Inner Development–Transformative Education Model, which integrates inner capacities development, transformative learning processes, and institutional integration. This model highlights the importance of combining personal growth with institutional innovation to support holistic and sustainable educational transformation.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the Hajj and Umrah service industry in Indonesia has increased the need for professional financial governance to ensure transparency, accountability, and public trust. This study aims to analyze the urgency of bookkeeping in realizing professional financial governance within Hajj and Umrah management institutions, particularly PT Qiblatain Safarina Bakti. The research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by examining relevant national and international scholarly publications related to bookkeeping, financial accountability, transparency, and organizational governance. The findings indicate that the initial understanding of bookkeeping among many Hajj and Umrah service providers was generally limited to simple financial recording activities and had not yet functioned as a comprehensive financial information system. The implementation of systematic bookkeeping contributes significantly to improving financial transparency, strengthening accountability, enhancing internal control mechanisms, and supporting evidence-based managerial decision-making. Furthermore, bookkeeping is increasingly perceived as a strategic governance instrument rather than merely an administrative requirement, particularly in institutions responsible for managing pilgrims’ entrusted funds. The study concludes that bookkeeping plays a vital role in strengthening organizational credibility, stakeholder confidence, and long-term sustainability. Therefore, Hajj and Umrah institutions should prioritize standardized bookkeeping systems, improve accounting competencies, and adopt digital financial technologies to achieve professional and accountable financial governance.
