Abstract

Premarital mental health is a crucial aspect of the preparation process for prospective brides and grooms entering marriage. However, mental health education continues to face challenges related to accessibility and engaging pedagogical strategies. The emergence of digital technology offers a path in the form of implementing chatbots as a health education medium that is easily accessible and aligned with the characteristics of the current generation. The purpose of this study was to assess the feasibility of a Telegram chatbot as a premarital mental health education medium for prospective brides and grooms, considering the perspectives of media experts, content experts, and users (prospective brides and grooms). A qualitative methodology was used, utilizing the P-process development framework. Data collection involved interviews with media experts, content experts, and prospective brides and grooms who functioned as Telegram chatbot users. Analysis was conducted by identifying evaluation results regarding the technical aspects of the media, material suitability, information delivery, and user acceptance of the chatbot. The results showed that the Telegram chatbot was deemed suitable for use as a premarital mental health education medium due to its ease of access, simple interface, easy-to-understand information delivery, and material relevant to the needs of prospective brides and grooms. The results of general comments and suggestions from informants became the basis for developing the Telegram chatbot to optimize it as a digital health promotion medium. Further development of a Telegram chatbot is recommended to test the effectiveness of the medium in increasing knowledge and mental preparedness of prospective brides and grooms.
