Abstract

Adolescents are a population group vulnerable to various reproductive health issues, one of which is early marriage. Limited knowledge of reproductive health is one of the contributing factors to child marriage. This community service program aimed to improve adolescents' knowledge of early marriage prevention through reproductive health education. The activity was conducted on Friday, June 19, 2026, at SMP Negeri 40 Bontomanai, Bulukumba Regency, involving 13 students. The implementation consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Health education was delivered using interactive lectures, group discussions, and question-and-answer sessions supported by PowerPoint presentations and leaflets. Participants' knowledge was assessed using pre-test and post-test evaluations. The results demonstrated an improvement in all measured knowledge indicators. Knowledge of reproductive health increased from 46% to 100%, understanding of early marriage from 54% to 100%, knowledge of the legal minimum age of marriage from 31% to 92%, awareness of the health consequences of early marriage from 38% to 92%, understanding of the social and educational impacts from 46% to 92%, and knowledge of early marriage prevention strategies from 31% to 100%. The high level of participant engagement throughout the educational sessions also contributed to the success of the program. Reproductive health education proved to be an effective strategy for improving adolescents' knowledge of early marriage prevention. Therefore, such educational activities should be implemented continuously with the active involvement of schools, parents, and healthcare professionals.
