Abstract

This research is motivated by the dichotomy between religious and general sciences, which triggers identity crises and moral degradation in the modern era. This phenomenon demands a deep reflection on the philosophical foundations of education to create a more holistic learning system. The primary objective of this study is to analyze the paradigm of Islamic philosophy through an overview of ontology, epistemology, and axiology, and its relevance to the integration of science in education. The method used is qualitative with a literature study approach that examines various literatures related to the philosophy of Islamic education. Research findings indicate that ontologically, Islamic education views reality as a unity of tawhid encompassing both material and spiritual dimensions. Epistemologically, knowledge is acquired through the integration of revelation and reason, while axiologically, education aims to form insan kamil who possesses a balance between intellectual intelligence and moral maturity. The implication of this research is the need for a reconstruction of the Islamic education curriculum that unifies prophetic values with modern science to address global challenges. The harmonization of science is a crucial strategy for producing competitive graduates who remain steadfast in spiritual principles in facing increasingly complex contemporary dynamics.
