Abstract

Abstract: The Ngengkleng dance work is a dramatic dance workinspired by the phenomenon of the postponement of the earth almstradition in Kesiman Village, Pandaan District, Pasuruan Regency. Thepostponement of the ritual gave rise to anxiety and a sense ofcollective guilt in the community which was linked to the Ngengklengphenomenon, a mental disorder experienced by a number of youngwomen. This work depicts the disruption of the balance of humanrelations, nature, and spirituality due to the neglect of ancestraltraditions. The creation of the work uses Jacqueline Smith'sConstruction Method I through the stages of initial stimulation, determining the type of dance, presentation mode, improvisation, evaluation, selection, refinement, and motif development. The form ofthe work is a dramatic dance with a symbolic presentation mode thatcombines elements of dance and theater. The performance structureconsists of an introduction and five scenes that represent theemotional journey of the main character, starting from regret, anger, loss, to the process of recovery through the earth alms ritual. The workwas performed on the proscenium stage of the Cak Durasim Buildingin Surabaya with five female dancers as representatives of theNgengkleng characters. Performance accessories include naturalmakeup, Javanese lurik clothing, miniature tumpeng props, dramaticlighting, and traditional and midi music accompaniment. Throughmovement, expression, and visual elements, this work emphasizes theimportance of tradition as a link between humans and nature, ancestors, and spirituality. Abstract

: Dance learning plays an important role in developing students' creativity, character, and cultural appreciation. One form of dance learning implementation in schools is through the Special Arts and Culture Class Program (KKSB). This study aims to describe the planning and implementation of dance learning in the Special Arts and Culture Class Program (KKSB) at SMP PGRI 1 Buduran Sidoarjo. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Research informants consisted of the vice principal, arts and culture teachers, dance trainers, and KKSB students. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that dance learning planning in KKSB includes determining learning objectives, compiling traditional and creative dance materials, selecting demonstration and practice methods, and using learning media in the form of accompanying music and dance videos. The learning implementation was carried out through introductory, core, and closing activities with an emphasis on direct practice, movement exploration, routine practice, and dance performance. The KKSB program has been proven to improve students' dance skills, creativity, discipline, cooperation, and appreciation of local culture. Thus, the KKSB program is an effective means of developing dance skills while supporting local cultural preservation efforts through structured and sustainable learning.
