Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven the transformation of the financial services sector through the emergence of digital banks that offer fast, convenient, flexible, and integrated services. This study aims to analyze the development of digital banking within the financial system and its impact on people's financial behavior. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method. Secondary data were obtained from scientific journal articles, books, laws and regulations, official reports from financial and banking institutions, statistical data, and relevant previous studies. The data were analyzed through data reduction, classification, presentation, descriptive analysis, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the development of digital banking has shifted people's transaction patterns from cash to cashless transactions and increased convenience in payments, fund transfers, saving, and financial management. Features such as automatic savings, financial goals, and transaction records can encourage saving habits and increase awareness of financial planning. However, convenient transactions, promotions, discounts, and cashback programs may also increase impulsive buying and consumptive behavior. Furthermore, digital banks play an important role in expanding financial inclusion and literacy, although challenges remain, including data security risks, digital fraud, cybercrime, and gaps in digital literacy. Therefore, the use of digital banking needs to be supported by self-control, improved digital financial literacy, stronger consumer protection, and continuous financial education.
