Abstract

ABSTRACTCyberbullying has become one of the most common forms of digital crime among adolescents alongside the rapid development of social media usage. The low level of public legal awareness and the absence of specific regulations regarding cyberbullying have caused many teenagers to be unaware that actions experienced or committed in digital spaces constitute legal violations. In addition, the anonymous nature of cyberbullying creates challenges in the process of evidence collection and law enforcement. This study aims to analyze the criminal liability of cyberbullying perpetrators against adolescent victims in Indonesia and to examine legal regulations related to victim protection and the handling of offenders, particularly juvenile offenders. The research employs normative legal research using statutory and case approaches. Legal materials were collected through library research and analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The results show that cyberbullying can be prosecuted under the provisions of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law and the Child Protection Law. However, law enforcement against juvenile offenders still faces obstacles because the Juvenile Criminal Justice System prioritizes rehabilitation and guidance over punitive measures.
