Abstract

The digital transformation in the Islamic banking industry presents a unique challenge: harmonizing technological convenience with compliance with Sharia principles. This study aims to test a modified SERVQUAL model by incorporating the Sharia Compliance dimension in assessing the digital service quality of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). A quantitative approach was employed involving 50 active BSI customers in Jember Regency, selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire (1–4) and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS 21. Validity and reliability tests indicated that the research instrument fell into the excellent category, with Cronbach's Alpha values exceeding 0.9 for all variables. The main findings reveal that the Sharia Compliance dimension exerts a significant influence on service quality, with an effective contribution of 58.2 percent. In contrast, customer loyalty had no significant effect, accounting for only 5.76 percent. Simultaneously, both variables explained 64 percent of the variation in service quality.

Abstract

The expansion of food and beverage products without halal labels in Indonesia poses challenges for the country's Muslim-majority population, as Islamic law requires the consumption of halal products. This qualitative study explores the purchasing decisions of Muslim consumers toward non-halal-labeled products. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 14 Muslim consumers in Jember Regency, East Java, selected through snowball sampling. The qualitative approach was employed to capture the contextual factors and subjective considerations underlying consumers' decisions. The findings reveal a gap between consumers' awareness of the importance of halal certification and their actual purchasing behavior. Despite recognizing the halal label as an important indicator of religious compliance, many respondents continue to purchase non-labeled products based on trust in the product's ingredients, brand reputation, manufacturer, and assumptions of inherent halalness. Purchasing decisions are also influenced by social recommendations, urgent situations, and sensory factors such as taste and product popularity. In the absence of halal certification, consumers frequently rely on alternative indicators, including the producer's Muslim identity, product origin, and word-of-mouth information, to assess halal status. These findings highlight the complexity of Muslim consumer behavior and provide insights for policymakers and businesses in strengthening halal assurance and consumer trust.

Abstract

The limited adequate learning resources and productive subject teaching materials for vocational school students open up opportunities to develop teaching materials integrated with technology to master 21st-century skills. This research aims to develop e-modules based on Project-Based Learning to improve the skills of vocational school students. Development research is built with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). This research is limited to the development stage at Wonosari Muhammadiyah Vocational School involving Class X Accounting Students. The e-module feasibility test was carried out by involving material experts, media experts, and student responses. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The feasibility of the e-module was analyzed using scores converted into four quantitative categories. The research output is in the form of an e-module softfile and guidelines for teachers and students. The e-module is also uploaded to the website to make it easier to access via a mobile web browser. The material validation test got an average score of 3.49 in the very decent category, while the media validation test got an average score of 3.58 in the very decent category. Furthermore, the student response results in the main field trial were 3.22, and the operational field trial was 3.33, getting the very feasible category. This e-module is appropriate for accounting learning to improve students' skills.
