Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant transformations to educational management, particularly through its integration into Education Management Information Systems (EMIS). This study aims to analyze the utilization of AI within EMIS as a decision-making support tool in educational institutions, while identifying the benefits, challenges, and implementation opportunities. Employing a qualitative approach, this study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method adhering to the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Research data were gathered from national and international scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026 across databases including Google Scholar, Scopus, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, IEEE Xplore, and Garuda/SINTA. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques through a rigorous process of identification, screening, evaluation, and synthesis of literature meeting the inclusion criteria. The findings indicate that AI implementation enhances EMIS effectiveness through administrative process automation, improved data processing accuracy, predictive analytics, and the provision of data-driven recommendations, thereby supporting faster, more objective, and accurate decision-making. Beyond improving operational efficiency and the quality of educational governance, AI implementation still faces various challenges, such as technological infrastructure limitations, human resource competencies, data security, and ethical concerns regarding AI usage. Therefore, successful AI implementation requires policy support, enhanced digital literacy, strengthened data governance, and the development of adequate technological infrastructure. This study is expected to serve as a reference for educational institution managers and researchers in developing an adaptive EMIS that aligns with digital transformation and focuses on data-driven decision-making.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to the management of educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the transformation of Artificial Intelligence-based Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) in improving the accuracy of academic decision-making. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review and analysis of AI implementation in educational management systems across several higher education institutions. The findings indicate that integrating AI into Education Management Information Systems—such as the application of machine learning for predictive analysis of student academic performance, early detection of students at risk of dropping out, and automated resource allocation—can reduce human bias and substantially improve the quality and accuracy of managerial decision-making. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including the readiness of data infrastructure, the protection of student data privacy, and the need to enhance the digital literacy of academic and administrative staff. The study concludes that the transformation of AI-based Education Management Information Systems is no longer merely an option but has become a strategic necessity for developing adaptive, efficient, and data-driven educational governance.

Abstract

Data silos or information barriers between departments are often the main obstacle to rapid and accurate decision-making in the digital era. This research aims to design and analyze the development of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)-based Information System in integrating corporate operational data. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach and literature review, this study explores the stages of ERP implementation, ranging from planning to post-implementation evaluation. The results indicate that ERP integration successfully eliminates data redundancy, enhances real-time information transparency, and accelerates internal bureaucratic efficiency by 35%. However, the primary challenge lies in human resource resistance to the new system changes. It is concluded that the success of ERP relies not only on technological readiness but also on effective change management and strong leadership commitment.

Abstract

The implementation of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) by Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS) has encountered significant challenges due to resistance from a number of respondents, particularly Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This resistance is primarily driven by concerns over the potential misuse of collected data for taxation purposes, as well as issues related to data privacy. This study aims to analyze the public information management strategies employed by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) to mitigate such resistance. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review and media content analysis, the findings reveal that BPS has addressed public resistance through three main strategies: (1) implementing large-scale information clarification (counter-narrative) to emphasize the independence of census data from the taxation system; (2) strengthening public education regarding legal guarantees of data confidentiality as stipulated in Law No. 16 of 1997 concerning Statistics; and (3) enhancing cross-sector public communication through collaboration with the Regional Communication and Informatics Offices (Diskominfo) and other relevant government agencies. The study concludes that transparent public communication and clear legal assurances regarding data confidentiality are key factors in restoring public trust and ensuring the successful implementation of the national economic census.

Abstract

Technological advancements require educational institutions to transition from manual to digital management to increase efficiency. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Educational Management Information System (EMIS) in improving the effectiveness of school administration. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach in a school environment. Data collection was conducted through observation, documentation, and interviews with administrative staff, the school principal, and teachers. The results show that the integration of EMIS significantly accelerates the processing of student data, financial management, and the compilation of academic reports. The main obstacles encountered include limited digital infrastructure and variations in the technical readiness of human resources. However, with structured training, EMIS is proven to cut administrative workload time by more than 40% and reduce the risk of data entry errors. In conclusion, EMIS is a crucial instrument in creating transparent, accurate, and accountable school governance.

Abstract

Santri (student) data management in Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) often faces challenges such as data redundancy, slow information retrieval, and the risk of physical document loss. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Management Information Systems (MIS) in managing santri data to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and integration of academic and administrative information. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative with a system analysis approach using the PIECES framework or SWOT analysis. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation studies at the pondok pesantren. The results indicate that the transition from a conventional system to a digital-based MIS can significantly reduce data processing time, facilitate reporting to santri's parents or guardians, and support decision-making by the boarding school leadership. However, the main constraints encountered include limited IT infrastructure and the readiness of human resources (operators). This study concludes that MIS implementation is highly crucial for the modernization of pesantren, yet it requires management commitment in continuous human resource training.
