Abstract

Microgreens merupakan sayuran muda yang dipanen pada usia 7–14 HST dan dikenal memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang tinggi, terutama vitamin, antioksidan, dan mineral esensial. Salah satu faktor penting yang mempengaruhi kualitas nutrisi microgreens adalah media tanam. Media tanam berfungsi menopang pertumbuhan tanaman, menyediakan unsur hara yang dibutuhkan, serta menjadi tempat berkembangnya sistem perakaran. Media tanam yang sesuai mampu meningkatkan penyerapan nutrisi secara optimal sehingga mendukung pertumbuhan dan perkembangan microgreens sawi hijau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai jenis media tanam terhadap produksi serta kandungan mineral esensial (Zn, Ca, dan S) pada microgreens sawi hijau. Waktu percobaan dilaksanakan pada Desember 2025 sampai Januari 2026 di Gedung A Fakultas Pertanian Kampus 2 Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang di Desa Margasari, Kecamatan Karawang Timur, Kabupaten Karawang, Jawa Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktor Tunggal dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas M0 = tanah, M1 = Cocopeat, M2 = Vermiculite, M3 = Rockwool, dan M4 = Perlite. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan jenis media tanam berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter bobot segar, bobot kering, kandungan mineral zinc, kandungan mineral kalsium, dan kandungan mineral sulfur. Jenis media tanah (M0) mampu memberikan hasil terbaik dengan nilai tertinggi pada rata-rata bobot segar sebesar 81,598 gram, rata-rata bobot kering sebesar 5,018 gram, dan rata-rata kandungan kalsium (Ca) sebesar 5.319,4 mg/100g. Jenis media perlite (M4) mampu memberikan hasil kandungan mineral Zn tertinggi sebesar 35,4 mg/100g. Jenis media rockwool (M3) mampu memberikan hasil kandungan mineral Sulfur tertinggi sebesar 2.837,6 mg/100g. Microgreens are young vegetables harvested at the age of 7–14 days after planting and are known to have high nutritional content, especially vitamins, antioxidants, and essential minerals. One of the important factors affecting nutritional quality of microgreens is the growing media. Growing media functions to support plant growth, provide the required nutrients, and serve as a medium for root system development. Appropriate growing media can enhance nutrient absorption optimally, thereby supporting the growth and development of green mustard microgreens. This study aims to determine the effect of various types of growing media on essential mineral content (Zn, Ca, and S) and the production of green mustard microgreens. The experiment was conducted from December 2025 to January 2026 at Building A, Faculty of Agriculture, Campus 2, Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang, located in Margasari Village, East Karawang District, Karawang Regency, West Java. The research method used was experimental with a single-factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments consisted of M0 = soil, M1 = cocopeat, M2 = vermiculite, M3 = rockwool, and M4 = perlite. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that different types of growing media had a significant effect on fresh weight, dry weight, zinc content, calcium content, and sulfur content. Soil media (M0) provided the best results with the highest values in average fresh weight of 81,598 grams, average dry weight of 5,018 grams, and average calcium (Ca) content of 5.319,4 mg/100g. Perlite media (M4) produced the highest zinc (Zn) mineral content of 35,4 mg/100 g. Rockwool medium (M3) produced the highest sulfur mineral content of 2.837,6 mg/100 g.
