Abstract

One of the key aspects of construction is the use of concrete, making research to improve its quality highly necessary. This study uses recycled aggregate in the form of granite waste as a partial substitute for coarse aggregate to produce environmentally friendly concrete while maintaining its quality. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of varying granite waste content on the compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of concrete. The experimental method is used in this research, which focuses on concrete with granite waste variations of 0%, 15%, 30%, and 45%. Testing the compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of concrete using cylindrical specimens with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm with a Compression Testing Machine and an additional dial gauge to measure specimen deformation. The compressive strength tests for concrete with granite waste variations of 0%; 15%; 30%; and 45% result in values of 22,27 MPa; 23,26 MPa; 29,27 MPa; and 25,28 MPa, respectively. Meanwhile, the modulus of elasticity tests yield values of 21727,29 MPa; 21882,92 MPa; 25920,23 MPa; 22585,91 MPa, respectively.

Abstract

Hybrid composites are engineering materials that combine two types of reinforcing fibers to achieve superior mechanical properties. The study aims to evaluate the effect of fiber layer arrangement on the flexural strength and impact toughness of hybrid composites based on unsaturated polyester resin (UPRs) reinforced with Luffa cylindrica fibers and fiberglass. Five types of stacking configurations were tested: Luffa–Luffa (LC-LC), Luffa–chopped strand mat (LC-CSM), chopped strand mat–Luffa (CSM-LC), Luffa–woven roving (LC-WR), and woven roving–Luffa (WR-LC). Flexural testing was conducted according to ASTM D790, while impact testing followed the Izod method based on ASTM D5941. The results show that the LC-WR configuration achieved the highest flexural strength of 107.723 MPa, whereas the WR-LC configuration yielded the highest impact strength of 50.49 kJ/m². Placing the fiberglass layer on the tensile side significantly increased flexural strength, while its placement on the compressive side demonstrated superior impact energy absorption. These findings underscore the critical role of fiber stacking sequence in determining the mechanical properties of hybrid composites, which can be optimized based on specific structural application requirements.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama sektor pertanian di Padukuhan Pucung, Kalurahan Pucung, adalah tingginya ketergantungan petani pada pestisida kimia sintetis yang memicu pencemaran lingkungan serta biaya operasional yang mahal. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Padukuhan Pucung dalam memproduksi pestisida nabati secara mandiri menggunakan potensi lokal berupa daun sirsak dan daun pepaya. Metode pelaksanaan program mencakup sosialisasi bersama Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan (PPL) dan workshop praktik langsung yang meliputi teknik ekstraksi dengan blender serta proses fermentasi selama satu minggu. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh anggota KWT mampu menguasai teknik pembuatan dan memahami mekanisme kerja senyawa aktif acetogenin serta papain dalam mengendalikan Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman (OPT) secara efektif. Dampak dari program ini adalah terciptanya efisiensi biaya input pertanian sebesar 15-20% serta meningkatnya kesadaran akan pentingnya sistem pertanian berkelanjutan. Simpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah pemberdayaan wanita tani melalui inovasi pestisida organik berbasis tanaman lokal mampu menjadi solusi ekonomis dan ekologis bagi masyarakat agraris.
